Twas hot in golf today in more ways than one.    Walked into the clubhouse feeling pretty chipper having scored 44 stablefords (net 64) only to find that three others had done the same … and then my good mate John N came in with an unbelievable 51 stablefords (net 57).   A record score that will not be beaten in my life-time, if ever,

Not a breath of wind and the fairways at Waitangi are like concrete but nothing can detract from a net 57.    No one pointers (or worse) on his card.   Members cheered him to an echo.   We mortals can only be envious.
