I see Ross Meurant has appeared over at at the left leaning ‘The Daily Blog’ arguing the toss on political donations.

Small chuckle to see him described as a former high ranking police officer, former Member of Parliament, formally with commercial interests in Iran and Afghanistan and currently an Honorary Consul for an African state.

I would better describe as a former mid ranking police officer (Inspector) who gave a new meaning to the term Minto Bars; former Member of Parliament (National) who was kicked out of the Executive when he refused to resign as a Director of a dodgy Russian owned bank (PROK Bank); formed his own ‘Right of Centre’ Party which was wiped out in the 1996 election; close confidante and adviser to Winston First.   Head banger extraordinaire.

p.s.    The African state is ‘Morocco’.    Fact … Morocco is recorded as supplying 80% of the cannabis resin (hashish) consumed in Europe.   It’s also a major transit point for cocaine from South America destined for Western Europe.    Read into that what you will.
