In an earlier post I gave a bit of a serve to Countdown telling them to ramp up their  home delivery service.     Don’t know what it’s like in the rest of the country but certainly there has been a marked improvement in access to that service in Paihia especially given that it’s run out of their KeriKeri Supermarket some 25 km away.

But I was delighted to learn that Countdown are paying all waged workers and  distribution team members working during the lock-down a bonus equivalent to 10% of their hourly rate.  Additionally they have increased their team discount for food and groceries from 5% to 10%  as well as providing all front-line staff with meals during any of their shifts.

Well done Countdown … one of those ‘nasty’ foreign owned firm too.
