I've been following the Minneapolic insanity closely and raised an eyebrow a few days ago when one member demanded their police be disbanded, but things have moved rapidly since then.This isn't the final vote of course, but reports I've seen indicate that many of the Minneapolic cops are going quit anyway, with some 20%+ near retirement and figuring it's just not worth the risk of life or pension.It's a hell of a social experiement.
That Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender mentioned above, claimed that the police are a net negative for blacks.What is needed is some skin in the game for these type of people.What if it turns out that, by some metric, say the rate of homicide, replacing the police (whatever from that takes), would in fact be worse? Would these people advocate for some form of real, severe punishment in case that would eventuate. If not, this could be a very evil experiment with no accountability.
