At last after seventeen long years the long suffering Blues supporter can dare to dream for what has for so long been the impossible dream. As an ex Naki boy I might even stop pretending that the Cains are my team.
Those of you who have viewed my profile will note I have a passing interest in League. Can the Warriors get any worse? Over paid, over hyped, under performing second raters sucking money out of the game.
Meanwhile the news that the Wairoa to Napier rail link, reopened with much fanfare by Shane Jones just 12 months ago following a $6.2m investment, is now no longer in use … mothballed. Another clusterf**k to go with all the other clusterf***s that are a hallmark of Jones’ handling of the $3b entrusted to him by Cindy to be used by the arrogant pompous git to help him buy an electorate seat. Ain’t working (much like his cuzzie bros he promised to get off the couch).

Hey what about some time lines. The line was mothballed after the Napier to Gisborne line was badly damaged in a storm in 2012.At the time, the cost of repairing and maintaining the tracks was deemed too high. That was a National govt if I recall. It was this Labour Govt who invested the money on the promise of jobs at the Napier port.https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/408144/reinstated-wairoa-to-napier-rail-line-should-bring-growthQuite why it has closed now I don't know and that funny thing above with lot's of numbers and bits is called a link, something that you are unfamiliar with I think.Petri Dish
Petri: it’s on Kiwiblog – quite critical of Shane Jones which is 1 unsurprising and 2 richly deserved. It’s easy to find, not sure why you demand a link when the info is readily available.
Petri Dish … many would argue that $6.2m wasted and lotsa hubris and cant is the hallmark of your government. But I'm happy about the Blues.
not sure why you demand a link when the info is readily available. It's all part of Petri thinking he's a Jedi: These aren't the trains you're looking for and all that.
Max Kiwiblog defaults NZ Herald which is behind a paywall. Can't find any claim elsewhere that the Napier Wairoa line has been mothballed again.
It’s in the post itself. Paying for the Horrid? I wouldn’t dream of it.
Try the Gisborne Herald. Its recent article on the Gisborne – Napier line included the information about Wairoa- Napier that Kiwiblog reported.
3 trains have run on the track, the last one back in March. I can do the sums without even taking my socks off, that's $6.2mil divided by 3 um……$2 million and a unicorn fart per train!Poor old Shane, just goes to show that a w**k lasts a long time in politics.
Nobody has explained why the line closed. Commercial considerations or govt decree?Petri Dish
Petri Dish … doesn't matter. The result is the same. Look, the decision to reopen the line was another example of virtue signalling devoid of any robust financial analysis and now its a lemon gone sour. Labour's Kiwibuild debacle (with just 396 houses built to date against a promised 5,187) has a serious rival in squandered funds from the PGF. It can be rightly said that Jones has 'passion fingers' … in that he manages to f**k up most things he touches which comes as no surprise from someone who was quite happy to rort the taxpayer watching porn charged off to his Ministerial credit card.
