The revelation here that Labour’s flagship transport policy (Auckland Light Rail) has been axed to stand alongside Kiwibuild (flop) as a monument to ineptness
or
This from Stuff reporting that 50 people were released early from quarantine without being tested for the Coronavirus.
Your choice but another bad day for the government.

Just put this comment up at Kiwiblog.\”People here in Australia keep telling me how wunnerful she is. The media keeps telling them so.I simply ask them to tell me something useful she has done. Works the same in reverse for the dickheads who hate the US president. As soon as I start to list the election promises he has kept they run away.\”
Run away is the operative word..Labour has runaway from its promises..Labour has run away from its policiesLabour has runaway from a Covid free countryLabour has runaway from a functioning economy and eplaced it with debtLabour just runs away…
Adolf, I have a sister and 3 nieces who have lived in WA for about 10 years and all think Jacinda is wonderful and will be voting FOR HER!!! Another sister here told sister in WA she didn't have the right to vote here as she doesn't know the full story. I quite agree with this. Why is it that NZers living overseas have the right to vote here even though most do not want to live here?
Just keep them out of NZ for three or is it five years and they lose their right to vote.
Aside from the partisan aspects of sticking it to the government I'd like to think that hospitals, hospices, and retirement homes are now implementing the protective measures adopeted by Florida, because for all the talk about how there's no community transmission would you trust them after this? Why take the risk given that we know the death tolls overseas are from the virus getting into such places where old people are.
TH … but its a very good aside.
Yeah, Adolt, other than unite the country after a mass shooting by one of your fellow travellers and eliminating Covid19 from NZ, thus allowing the country to reopen ahead of anywhere else, what has she done? As for Trump, everything he’s “achieved” is either a lie (eg veterans choice) or fucking dumb (a pointless non-complete border fence, for which he lied about the invoicing). He managed to get himself impeached for attempting to coerce a foreign power into investigating one of his political rivals, and he did make history as the only POS to have bipartisan support in the Senate for his removal, so yeah, so much winning.
Flake … how many Covid-19 cases over the last week and you call that 'elimination!!!!! and how many potential carriers let free into the community without testing? Heh, stop spibning and peddling crap. Meanwhile, on planet Ardern, it's lie upon lie, broken promise on broken promise and your poster girl afraid to say to Peters 'stick it buddy' … at 2% you don't matter and do what you will for you have nothing to lose but your ministerial salary. 'She' supposedly is riding the crest of a wave and any PM worth his/her salt and on being given the finger their coalition partner would have called their bluff and said DCM. You are entitled to ask just what does Peters have over Ardern that he and his colleagues can continue to embarrass her without fear of retribution.
They dont like it up them, do they? -Lance corporal JonesOddball
Every new case has been a new arrival, “the Veteran”. So no community transmission, so eliminated. You’re not that dumb are you? Testing hasn’t identified any cases outside of isolation so regardless of how many left quarantine without a test, the quarantining has worked. Man you guys are desperate.
Flake … spin it as you want. A shambles at the border in March and a shambles at the border in June. And it all happened under 'her' watch.Kiwiflop, Capital Gains Tax and now Auckland Light Rail (to name but a few). Some record of 'achievement' … not.
Elimination of Covid 19 happened under her watch. Can’t see Todd the middle manager achieving something so monumental. Can you?
Covid-19 eliminated … so why the panic at the border and why does St Jacinda say she's not a happy chappy. Todd, middle manager (your descriptive). Just where does a fish & chip wrapper fit in that continuum? Sheesh, at least Pauline Hanson owned a Fish & Chip shop.
…. by one of your fellow travellers… MUHAHHAAHAHHAHAHHASnowflake is cracking under the pressure has taken to mainlining rather than snorting – plus screaming about Trump on a thread that has nothing to do with Trump or the USA.You're pathetic, snowflake. But keep screaming chum.
Oh dear, Tommy’s busted a fufu valve. Go to bed, chief. You’re tired and emotional. Adolt is a well known racist and islamophobe. Even he would admit it. He’s a gutless version of the Christchurch shooter. Jeez, keep up. And you brought Trump up on this thread, not me. That’s not surprising though; you have a life size poster of your hero on your bedroom ceiling.
Snicker…Snowflake the loser. It's all fallng apart in NZ chum and all the misdirections to the US and Trump won't save you.And when it comes to a fantasy I'm thinking the following for you. It's along the lines of OK / Not OK:OK: Snowflake has a poster of Jacinda and Gaylord above his bed.Not OK>: Snowflake slashes out the picture of Gaylord.
And you brought Trump up on this thread, not me. – Snowflake 10:18pmAs for Trump, everything … – Snowflake 8:14pmYou're not even trying anymore, even as a troll.
There are very few countries doing better than NZ in controlling this virus. I know, most of you are pissed that it is the wrong party that is achieving all this success, but that doesn't change the fact that NZ is one of the safest and best managed countries on the planet.Had the party of Capitalists and Wreckers been in government at this time, the disaster would have been far worse than ChCh after the fat Controller fucked the rebuild.
It will be a very different picture, when the wage subsidies are removed, which is when the somewhat false economy we are living in, will collapse. These subsidies are set to end just after the election, and can't be paid out indefinitely, unless of course you don't care about the younger generations who will have to pay it all back.Jacinda's fall from grace won't be pretty.Oddball
Tommy and Adolt are part of the same borg. Adolt brought Trump up when he made the hilarious suggestion that he had done things as President other than lie, kill his own citizens and commit crimes.Gaylord, Tommy? You’re not even trying anymore – even as a dog whistling dickwad.
Faced with an unwinnable argument, and defending the indefensible, Snowie reverts to infantile name calling and toy throwing tantrums. Go on Snowie, call me \”Astro\”. It's irrational and weird but if it makes you feel better I'm OK with it.
Yup, things were slack at the border and chances were taken that shouldn’t have been. I do wonder how much the Christensen case influenced the situation. It does look like no harm done from moving the two sisters from managed isolation to self isolation without tests. There is no community transmission and The management of returning kiwis is much improved. One consequence is that immigrant labour for dairy farms and tractor drivers will not be coming this year so employers will have to plan accordingly. I suspect they were hoping to stampede a late decision in there favour. Not happening. Ian
And back to the substance of the post … its now been revealed that 51 of the 55 persons granted early release from quarantine in the period 9-16 June were not tested at all for the virus while a further report in today's NZ Herald has it that up to 1300 arrivals may have been let out of quarantine without being subjected to any testing at all. I guess that constitutes what Rex Mundi refers to in his 1.50 comment about NZL being the best managed country on the planet. Hoisted with his own petard methinks.
I hope you are correct about no CT, Ian. We won't know for a while if there has been asymptomatic transmission from the all Blomfield's lost sheep out there. Also, symptomatic transmission could be lost among the general colds and flu that are prevalent at this time of year.
I guess that constitutes what Rex Mundi refers to in his 1.50 comment about NZL being the best managed country on the planet. Hoisted with his own petard methinks. That is not at all what I wrote. You are being dishonest, probably from reading too much Tommy Bot Rot. This is what I actually wrote. There are very few countries doing better than NZ in controlling this virus. If I am wrong, I am happy to be corrected, but how many countries have had a better outcome than NZ?
Snowflake said… Tommy and Adolt are part of the same borg.Adolf let the cat out of the bag with this post a few days ago:https://i.postimg.cc/wjxHVVVr/2020-06-23-12-51-29.png

… but how many countries have had a better outcome than NZ?…Filtered by deaths per million population…UgandaVietnamCambodiaNamibiaBurma (Myanmar)RwandaMozambiqueTaiwanAngolaZimbabwe (yes – really)Tanzania….ThailandHong Kong…and many, many others…..It's just a click away \”Rex\”.
Tommy and Adolt are part of the same borg.Adolf let the cat out of the bag with this post a few days ago:…Heh! So you're calling Psycho and The Vet liars, because you do know that as authors we all have our own email addresses and communicate with eachother.Or perhaps you and \”Anne Tiffa\” are just projecting,…. eh \”Rex\”.ߤ㰟䣰ߤ㰟䣰ߤ㰟䣰ߤ㰟䣰ߤ㰟䣰ߤ㰟䣰ߤ㰟䣀
Rex M … FFS read your 1.50 post. First para, last thirteen words … 'NZ is one of the safest and best managed countries on the planet.' And you have the gall to call me dishonest. Come on, man up and apologise.
Tommy, just wondering why Adolf would sign the post shown above as Tom.
Yes Tom, poor countries with poor health services will have problems in reporting causes of death. In many of the countries you mention, people die all the time, far from medical care, so no surprise they report lower numbers. And I doubt you really think that most of them are well managed, functioning nations. Taiwan being the exception.Looking at countries similar to NZ in terms of wealth and top level healthcare, NZ is only surpassed by:TaiwanSri LankaHong KongChinaNot too bad a record, and well in advance of DenmarkGermanyCanadaIrelandNetherlandsUKUSAItalyand these are the countries NZ normally compares itself with, not third world dictatorships and developing countries.Do try harder to maintain a logical consistency.
Veteran, I apologise. I was wrong. Thanks to Tom's link above, I now know I was under estimating the success of NZ, greater than I thought.
Hilarious! Tomas praises \”shithole countries\”* as doing better than NZ.I wonder if Tomas had a severe respiratory illness where he would choose to seek health care. One of the \”shithole countries\”* above or NZ? I think we know the answer.*Shithole countries used with permission of Trump Campaign.
\”Praise\” is a funny way to describe a simple list of nations that have done better than NZ in dealing with this disease. Moreover a list provided in answer to a simple question. In addition the point raised or implied by that comment and also that of \”Gustavo\” – which is that we should only compare ourselves to comparable nations such as the OECD group – is to completely ignore the idea that there may be factors about this disease that render irrelevant the type of response any particular nation made or the condition of their health care systems.
Rex M … thank you. Yes, I can agree NZL has been relatively successful in the fight against the virus but it came/comes at some considerable cost … some would argue at too greater cost. But, looking ahead, and if the shambles at the border (not to mention Kiwiflop, Auckland Light Rail and the PGF rort)is to be taken as indicative of the Ardern government's ability to manage the economy going forward then you should be afraid … very afraid.GF … NZL under lock-down was in effect a dictatorship.
Good on you, Tom. Now, let's get back to your admiration of the Swedish Model which has seen a mere 516 deaths per million. Is NZ doing better than Sweden in managing the virus?
