To the Minister Responsible for the Serious Fraud Office … Can he confirm the earlier advice tendered by the Director of the Serious Fraud Office that the investigation into alleged electoral malpractice by the NZ First Foundation and said to involve Winston Raymond Peters, NZ First Leader; Clayton Robert Henry Mitchell, NZ First Part Whip; Doug Wollerton, ex MP, ex Party President, trustee of the NZ First Foundation and Brian Phillip Henry, Peter’s lawyer, NZ First Chief Judicial Officer, trustee of the NZ First Foundation, will be completed and the result announced ahead of the election set down for Saturday, 26 September 2020 19 September 2020.
Just askin.

The election date is Saturday 19th September.Ian
And the anticipated answer: “That is an operational matter and it would be inappropriate of me as Minister to comment on a specific alleged investigation, much less specify to the Director of the SFO how long he should or should not take to fulfil his duties as a public servant on any investigation.
Ian … thank you. Happy to be corrected. Means the 'sensitive period' is now in play with the government required to exercise a degree of restraint in accordance with Cabinet Office Circular CO (20) 1: Government Decisions and Actions in the Pre-election Period. Kimbo … the question was a bit of happy mischief but, FYI, the Director is a her not a him.
Sean Plunket said 30 minutes or so ago on Magic Talk that the SFO has searched Henry's house. He did not elaborate on how recent that search is/was.
Personally I hope there isn’t a last minute big reveal as, while I hope the N.Z. First story ends, I would prefer it to end without the perception of civil service shafting. We all know how W.R.P. would play the victim.Ian
There is no doubt that the Lady i/c of the SFO will do as little as possible before the election so as not to prejudice her future position afterwards as Cindy gets back and Wynston possibly.
There is as much chance of that happening as there is of the far right UK Tory party releasing the results of the ministerial inquiry into Russian meddling in the Brexit vote or an inquiry into the housing secretary Robert Jerick taking a planning permission bung off a property developer who is big Tory donor and newspaper owner.Or a reluctance to to have an official inquiry into the shambles of coronavicus that is on track to kill 50,000 UK citizens. No point in making happy mischief over dirty washing that is never aired in public, its just politics as you are so fond of reminding us.Petri Dish
Petri Dish et al … just to remind that the Director of the SFO said it would be. And it needs to be. It would be unfair to NZ First (am I really saying that) for them to go into the campaign with this hanging over their head. Conversely, should the SFO find there is a case to answer, then it is what it is and they (NZ First) have only themselves to blame.
