No Minister

WORD TO THE WISE OR NOT

I see that St Jacinda has floated the possibility of regional lock-downs should Covid-19 again appear again in the community.

One has to hope that this isn’t an admission that the government cannot properly secure the borders but the evidence to date suggests they can’t.

Simple question … why can’t they.

  1. Why cant they…because people are involved, and because the Labour Party is involved.

But in reality there is no end game under the current health regime. We will end up like Victoria as this virus that is no worse than the flu is unstoppable.

The sooner the politicians realise that the only workable model for modern society is the Swedish model the sooner we can get on with our normal lives.

This current Govt cant and wont ever go there. Its wedded to its ideological position and the massive loss of face movement would entail is unbearable. After all they went early and hard ( the lie of the decade)

Will National have a solution that changes the game back..stay tuned.

    • Will National have a solution? Judith Collins has told you what National’s goals are: win power, win power and win power. Don’t bother looking for solutions in there, you won’t find any.

    Seriously?
    1. No it’s not an admission the govt can’t control the borders, it’s an admission that the govt mustn’t be as complacent about this as National appears to be.
    2. Something like 30,000 returning NZers have been through managed isolation in the last couple of months, a total of four (Four! Count ’em!) tossers have failed to cooperate, and a total of 0 (count ’em if you know how to count to zero, folks!) cases of community transmission have occurred. That’s a great success by any standard, and an even greater one when you look at how other countries are doing. Todd Muller tried bullshitting people into thinking that stunning success was a “shambles” and look where he is now.

  5. One reason Labour can’t is that they are unwilling to shoot anyone who enters illegally. East Germany had no such qualms and still couldn’t control it’s border. Mind you, both are socialist outfits and that might be a clue.

  6. I think it is a combination of their general incompetence and an ideological abhorrence to strong borders. Hence the virtue signal attempts to cover for not really wanting to do it. A strong border idea is anti-globalist. You must feel their pain. It’s like a moral conscious nagging them to do something they don’t wanna.
