What facts would those be that says POTUS might be right? The fact that NZ had 6 new cases today compared to more than 50,000 in the US. The fact that over 1,000 people died of Covid in the US in the last 24 hours, compared to zero in NZ.

Were we facing the sane Democrat Party of Bill Clinton then I would agree. Or even the relatively sane Obama Democrat Party.

I can only assume that you think that the commanding powers-that-be inside the Party – the Pelosi’s/Schumers and the rest who’ve worked with Biden for decades on corporate support for MBNA and the like – will simply use the far left tools like Bernie and AOC and then screw them once the election is over and Trump is defeated?
Bernie was the only Democrat candidate who actually got any real enthusiasm from the Democrat crowds and the only reason Biden got over the hump was the simple calculation of who would be most likely to beat Trump out of the two of them.
But Sanders, AOC and the rest have been entirely open about how they think they have the wind at their backs and that they can bend Biden to their will once he’s President. I think they’re right.
Besides that, Trump was making a precise point the other day when he said that having Democrats in charge of the USA at a Federal level means the nation will go down the path of the cities and states run by Democrats. That’s a message resonating with my friends in Chicago who have experienced such “governance” at first hand. And with maybe two exceptions, they’re all Democrats.

As for Covid you really would not want to live in a state like California or New York controlled by the Democrats.
Nationally the death rate is about 1/3 of a percent. Take out all the over reporting and mis reporting and you would find its about a normal death rate for the flu season.

So far as I am concerned, Plan A (eradication) is best for NZ. Supported by both National and Labour. The reason being is that we have an excellent chance of pulling off Plan A. We are an island nation and we can control our border. Right at the moment, it looks like the latest outbreak is contained. So there appears not be be widespread uncontrolled community transmission, as is clearly the case in the US.
I know you, Tom, Adolf and a host of Kiwibloggers hate the current government’s covid strategy. Well, I say suck it up and comply with the rules.
