Quite the opposite in fact. Yet his article which you can access at https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/bryce-edwards-serious-governments-border-botch-ups is a brutal assessment of the government’s cock-ups post lock-down #1.
Let he who has eyes let him read.
Let the character assignation and general vilification of Edwards commence.
Plus this from one Deane Jessep via Kiwiblog.
Reading the real-life experiences of someone going through the testing/isolation world is painful.
Where’s the new Douglas Adams who can describe our new Vogon overlords.
Nevertheless – and despite my oft-expressed opinion that they’re a useless shower – I’m not going to bag the government too much on this. It may surprise other commentators that I not do so but this is simply what I expect from NZ government nowadays.
After all, the same MOH and the same advisors would have been at National’s side had they been in power and we have been repeatedly assured that they would have followed the same path – only better.🙄🙄
Yeah, nah. You’ve oversold/misunderstood Bryce Edwards purpose and editorial stance.
As per the weekly column he used to have in the NZ Herald, he is providing a weekly summary of what is “hot” by canvassing what the various media commentators and reporters from all parts of the political spectrum are saying. So you get a feel for the “vibe”, and get to decide among the sometimes discordant voices which pony on which you’ll put your money.
For example, from the link:
…Should there be an inquiry into what has occurred? Various commentators and epidemiologists have been arguing for this to occur for some time.
Although the Government continue to argue against deploying resources for such scrutiny while the crisis is still on, some experts say the need is all the greater to learn the lessons as soon as possible….
But by all means take your time to look at the various pundits he has quoted to get a feel for how the public discussion may be heading…
Kimbo … sorry, BE has been a shill for the left since Adam was a cowboy. Sure, he was posing questions but, in doing so, he was supplying ‘his’ answers. As I said in a previous post … the carefully orchestrated government response that there there is nothing to see here is becoming increasing frayed at the edges moving into the centre.
Meanwhile the extension of the lock-down is expected to cost 125 Aucklanders their jobs. For them the greater good for the greater number is but a sick, sick joke.
But but but…
… National despite protestations to the contrary is of the Left Veteran
At this point in history they are just a little more vapid than their competitors on the liberal left – The New Zealand Labour Party.
And they would have done no better over this than Labour a we all know – they would have listened to the same bunch of aspergers dingleberries as Labour has
This one’s enjoyable….Tony Burton: How govt depts really work
You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll want to re-watch Yes Minister
Yes.
Legislation and mission statements in Te Reo notwithstanding, there is one clear purpose that a bureaucracy will always prioritise above all others: to perpetuate its continued existence by continually covering its arse. Is rooted in immutable human nature, as evidenced by the empirically proven fact that turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.
If I may be permitted to agree that there have been mistakes made and a few missed crossed T’s and undotted I’s. On the other hand if you want to see monumental cockups and excruciatingly bad governance then this is hard to beat.
Government according to the right.
Nah, no one would believe that.
