A world of fairness and unity beckons

I was amused at DPF’s little piece of unity propaganda the other day with the story of the young fighter pilot on 9/11.

Funny, but I don’t recall any such stories floating around after the 2016 US Presidential election.

In fact all I heard and saw was unhinged people screaming at the sky and #Resistance, as well as #NotMyPresident, and this has continued for four years.

The current wave of bullshit intended to help Biden is not going to work after four years of a hate-fest that went far beyond the activists of BushChimpHitler days. This was personal between ordinary people on Facebook and the like. Well, personal in one direction: Trump supporters kept quiet for the most part.

I don’t recall anything this bad even from the days of Reagan and Bush and to think it can be just switched off and forgotten is wish-casting. And I can attest that the above has been our experience from most of our old Chicago “friends”. They seem to have been very subdued since the election though, but some things cannot be erased.

Here’s the Arizona Secretary of State, Katie Hobbs, three years ago.

And yes, she will be the one that certifies the 2020 election results for the State.

Fills you with confidence about fairness, eh?

If she had any sense of shame she’d hand over the job to someone else. In judicial world it’s called recusing yourself. But I’m sure she has no shame.

Which all makes this Tweet from American veteran, Dan Crenshaw (who lost an eye in combat) something to watch in contrast to the appeal using that 9/11 fighter pilot.

And I’ll put this up again since people seemed to miss the news the first time around, which is that Ronald Klain is about to become Biden’s new Chief of Staff.

Unity? LOLGF.

  1. Get over it. Your guy has lost, and not only has lost badly overall, but is also a bad loser.

When the final vote counts are finally in, the pollsters will be seen to have been reasonably accurate. Biden is projected to have 5 million more votes than Trump, which will be a 5% margin.

As you well know the Secretary of State within states is typically a political office, so shock horror, they have political views. Have you any evidence at all the Kathryn Hobbs is doing her job in relation to the election in any other than a professional manner.

    • So a doddery old septuagenarian who didn;t actually campaign is more popular than Barak Obama in his prime was Dr Mapp?

      Seriuously you believe that?

I know your guy is very popular amonf dead voters, and dementia ward patients

I don’t know how this one plays out but I do know that Joe Biden did not get more legitimte votes in the so called swing States than Donald Trump and it was only the party machine in the other States tht got him the vote in the blue states.

I also know that those who think a Biden administration will usher in new era of prosperity in an idylic America are going to be disappointed

Let me ask you this Dr Mapp – why did Pennsylvania alter the regulations to allow postal ballots (which need to be distinguished from absentee ballots) to be received up to three days after the polls close?

You know what the answer is don’t you? It increases the opportunities for confusion and fraud

      Tell me I’m wrong

    • I guess that Hillary Clinton was also a bad loser then, given that she moaned about losing the election for a very long time afterwards.

    • I love good debate in the realm of ideas, the cut and thrust of argument and counter argument and I must say your counter argument to what I put before you is compelling

What can I say in response to the logic and reason on displayed in the dogmatic You are Wrong

You don’t think the mass mail out of Ballots and confusion surrounding the chain of custody of said ballots will lead to major opportunities for fraud?

This is an end of Weimarer Republik moment where democracy dies in favour of a technocratic dictatorship

  4. This thread iis pointless, he’s packing it in, it’s all over, the fat lady has done her bit, even now most Rebublicans who have any regard for democracy as opposed to power at any cost are distancing themselves .

You are embarrassing yourself, the United States of America and democracy by subverting the result to cause division and chaos.

  5. 68% of Americans “believe elections are rigged”.

72% of Americans believe that god created in the world in 7 days, that Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs, and fossils are Satan’s way of leading then away from god.

only 15 percent of American adults were able to correctly note the year the US Constitution was written — 1787 — and a mere 25 percent could correctly state that the Constitution has 27 amendments.

Just like science doesn’t care about your beliefs, neither does the reality that There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised.

The takeaway from that report:“The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history. Right now, across the country, election officials are reviewing and double checking the entire election process prior to finalizing the result.

  6. In fact all I heard and saw was unhinged people screaming at the sky and #Resistance, as well as #NotMyPresident, and this has continued for four years.

Unlike the eight years that Obama had to put up with people questioning his birthplace, his parentage, his academic record, the colour of his toilet roll and if his brother was queer.

  7. Andrei,

My reply was intended as humour. I won’t be rebutting each and every point. There are enough experts in the US for that. However, I essentially accept that the US electoral has fundamental integrity.

    • “fundamental integrity” LOL – are you trying out jokes for your standup comedy act?
