Pompous lefties and others are fond of throwing around generalized criticisms of Pesident Trump but when challenged to produce specifics, are nowhere to be found.
One of their favorites themes is ‘if he hadn’t made such a mess of the Covid response he would have won the election .’
No wonder they hide in the broom cupboard.
From Powerline:-
Actually, Biden’s accusation that “Trump did nothing” to fight the epidemic was multiple monstrous lies in one. From the outset, and throughout the pandemic, Trump did not control a single health care policy that would affect infection rates in the fifty states. We are governed by a federal system in which those policies, whether it is mask mandates or business shutdowns, or who gets put in nursing homes, are formulated and executed by the respective governors of those states.
Trump supplied those governors – Democrats and Republicans equally – with record numbers of ventilators, masks, testing kits, swabs and other medical equipment, held daily briefings alongside officials of the Centers for Disease Control, and produced two vaccines in record time which are saving millions of lives. No apologies, let alone thank yous, from President Biden. Just more of the oblivion in which he is allowed to forget he had ever called Trump a mass murderer in order to deceive people into voting Democrat.
Not to forget the rapid deployment of two USNS hospital ships that the States did not use, to their shame.
I understand from my reading on the subject at least 12,500 deaths (and probably many more) can be laid directly at the door of New York Governor Cuomo.
I think President Trump, unlike the hysterical , lying left wing tried to steer a course between keeping people employed and reacting to Covid in a sensible manner. He had the experience to realise that many ordinary American voters, and small business people would lose their jobs if he imposed lockdowns on a grand scale.
I doubt the annualised death rate will be little different than the 10 year trend, perhaps a little higher despite the shrieking and hand winging
The provisional figures for the USA, 2020 show a slightly higher rate than the rolling 5 year average but a lower rate than 2018 which was a bad flu year
Trump initially called it for what it is, a respiratory virus that can initiate the final decline in people who have reached the end of their natural lifespan
He got stabbed in the back by that swamp creature Fauci amplified by media hysteria
Normally when reporting the fatality rate for a disease the statistic presented in Deaths./hundred thousand of population or Deaths./ million of population.
One of the obvious signs that is a beat up is the reporting of the cumalitive totals of purported deaths which quickly produce scary numbers when presented out of context. In addition a Covid-19 death is definitional, anyone who dies after testing positive for this disease becomes a Covid death regardless of the role Covid actually played in their demise and even worse many deaths from Viral pneumonia have been ascribed as Covid despite their being no test for its prescence in that individual. The waters have been diliberately muddied for political reasons
In any year around 1% – 1.5% of the population will die in the natural course of events , so that is about 2.9 million people die every year in the USA and whoever controls congress or the Whitehouse cannot change that
Below is a breakdown of how much funding per COVID-19 case each state will receive from the first $30 billion in aid. Kaiser Health News used a state breakdown provided to the House Ways and Means Committee by HHS along with COVID-19 cases tabulated by The New York Times for its analysis.
Alabama
$158,000 per COVID-19 case
Alaska
$306,000
Arizona
$23,000
Arkansas
$285,000
California
$145,000
Colorado
$58,000
Connecticut
$38,000
Delaware
$127,000
Just a small incentive to report every death a Covid death. Some states recieve nearly $400,000 per death….go figure
In the postmodern world its all in the narrative Adolf – there is no absolute truth with a capital “T”. The truth is for those who control the narrative what suits them.
Which is why the world of the 2020s is so nuts and those such as myself who call BS when we see it “flat earthers” and “conspiracy theorists™”
If Hillary Clinton had won in 2016 do you think we would have even had the “pandemic™”?
People are begining to get ever more cynical about “climate change™” as they shovel snow from their cars and Biden’s new Climate Change Czar flys 5000km in his private jet to pick up an Environmental Award so something new has to be conjured up to scare them into compliance and what better than building a scary new narrative around an ubiquitous virus that mutates in real time.
The sad thing is how many people take what they are told at face value and without question and the frightening thing is how people even those with impeccable with credentials who do raise questions are silenced
Question when was the last time you heard anything about “AIDS”. – remember when that was going to be an epidemic that would ravage our nation?
Interest in that one has faded away – it is/was multiple diseases with a political narrative constructed around them using data from third rate, if that, scientists and the epithet “denier” applied to other scientists who called that narrative into question.
There are many precidents for this, of course, from the persecution of Galileo to Lysenkoism in the Soviet Union…
If these new untried RNA vaccines end up being a public health catastrophe Trump will wear the blame,
If they don’t work very well, however new Covid variants will call for new vaccines and the drug companies will have found the biggest gold mine since the accidental discovery of Viagra’s properties with respect to middle aged male libido
Senile dolt “next cab off the rank” creepy Joe campaigned on the basis that “Donald Trump has no plan for Covid. I have a plan”. Now that he is in office, his plan appears to be to carry on doing what Trump put in place and take credit for it.
On another blog, as a comment to a generalised “Lock Up Trump” post, I wrote the following:
“So what charges would be levelled against Ex-President Trump that pertain to his time in office? All of the current lawsuits are related to allegations that occurred before he became President. I don’t understand the vitriol that some have towards Donald Trump. Until Covid-19 derailed his political career and likely re-election
he was doing an outstanding job in my opinion and working hard to benefit a wide range of US citizens. Show me someone who harbours a deep hatred for Donald Trump and I will show you someone who gets all their information from the mainstream media that has attacked him relentlessly from day one. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-54716550 ”
