Back when Ronald Reagan delivered a joke about the US Coast Guard to one of their graduating classes there was already serious talk among his Democrat opponents about how an already dumb man had been further mentally crippled by his advanced age of 77, where his senility was held to be “obvious”.
I’d already seen coverage of Joe Biden’s sad and confused delivery of a joke to the most recent graduating class of the same organisation. He gets no laughs and makes matters worse by indulging in his already well-known penchant for attacking his audience when things don’t go his scripted way.
Well it turns out to be even worse than that as Biden was simply repeating Reagan’s thirty year old joke: again, a classic Biden trait is on display, this time his lifelong, honed skill of plagiarism.
So here’s the comparison:
And of course there is no comparison as Reagan outshines Biden by several orders of magnitude. Aside from the creaky delivery Biden fucked up the words, as usual:
“I can only assume that you will enjoy educating your family about how the Coast Guard is quote, ‘the hard nucleus around the Navy forms in times of war.’”
No wonder they didn’t laugh, and Biden obviously did not realise he’d screwed it up but thought he’d nailed it.

Dear god, but Biden is one weak, shambling, useless POS, and the same people who screamed about age and senility in a POTUS during the age of Reagan are absolutely quiet or even gaslighting about Biden’s many infirmities, the low IQ being merely the one that’s been the most obvious for fifty years.

Reagan was one of the USA’s greatest ever Presidents, having stared down and seen off their existential threat: the Soviet Union. Along with Maggie, universally hated by the nasty, vindictive and generally repulsive left. Because the two of them destroyed the left, Soviet communism and all.

I thought Biden was pathetic … his remark fell flat, he was expecting the audience to clap and so he called them out for not doing so and it was all downhill from there … and to cap it all off, as you quite rightly point out, his plagiarised a speech that Ronald Reagan delivered to the same audience three plus decades ago.
Two decades ago I had as my doctor an escapee from Zimbabwe. He swore that Mulgabe was permanently incapacitated at what you saw was a doppelganger wheeled out to preserve the fiction that all was ok. Perhaps ‘they’ need to do the same to Biden because at the rate he’s going to rival Trump in the damage he’s doing to the office. At least Trump did it all by himself … with Biden it’s faceless people pulling the strings.
I’m not at all worried about “damage to the office of POTUS” because there have been dickheads there before and there will be again.
Hell, I’m not even that worried about all the Executive Orders he’s passed. Even in the now gigantic world of the Executive (far beyond anything imagined by the Founders) they won’t have the effect that their supporters – and opponents – believe.
Trump pushed along many things that will take a Democrat more than four years to reverse and the bureaucracies that will supposedly enact such things, after four years of playing Sir Humphrey to Trump’s Hacker, will find that they’re still bureaucracies and unable to create much. For that you need legislation and things are too close in the House and the Senate to pull off the big Acts needed for real action.
I’ll grant one exception which is that Middle Eastern stuff of once more sucking up to Iran and opening the spigot to the PLO and company again. That has already had consequences and there’s more to come.
No, I’m more concerned about the runaway freight train that is the Federal government, both in terms of existing programmes they can’t pay for any longer and the political weaponisation of places like the DOJ and FBI. Biden is not responsible for that in any real sense, but his “minions” are. As an example of how things are not so different consider that Edith Wilson basically acted as the United States first female President over a century ago.
Relax, you’ll be tearing your hair out at the antics of President Harris and her socialist “woke” brigade within a year regardless of whether the 25th amendment is invoked on “Sleepy Joe” or natural causes take him to his reward.
They won’t replace Biden with Harris – she is electoral poison, even among Democrats. Look at how she was humiliated in the Primaries. Biden has lost the support of the Senate with at least three Democratic senators very wary of the legislation being pushed and the Republicans united. The House is close to a knife edge and Pelosi is losing control. Mid terms will see it go back to Republican control of both Houses and several more states.
The Executive Orders from Biden will continue as that is the only way they can get anything through. And then it will go to the Supreme Court to be struck down. And the court packing proposed or extra states won’t work because the Senate won’t support it.
