No Minister

Can I start this off by making this simple statement … the Mongrel Mob are a criminal gang … no ifs, buts or maybes.

And their response to the widespread outrage spearheaded by National’s Simeon Brown over the mob being allowed to take over a portion of the State Highway in contravention of any number of traffic laws supposedly as part of ‘tangihanga’ was to have their media relations person, a certain Lou Hutchinson, launch a petition calling for Brown to be forced to apologise to the affected whanau for his racist outburst; that he be censured by the National Party and stripped of his portfolio responsibilities (Police, Corrections, Serious Fraud Office and Youth); that he be censured by the Speaker of the House and that his Facebook, Twitter and Social Media Accounts be suspended until he completes cultural sensitivity training and the Speaker deems him fit.

About the only thing they didn’t call for was his hanging, drawing and quartering without trial.

Kudos to Brown for his response … “if the gangs are trying to get me sacked then I must be doing the right thing”. Brown has previously received death threats for speaking out on gangs whose membership has grown by over 50% since Labour took office in 2017.

I finish where I started. The Mongrel Mob et al are major players in a whole range of serious criminal activity. Any hugs and kindness shown to them will be taken as a sign of weakness and the green light to continue on doing what they do best … thumbing their noses at the law. But its all hugs and kindness that gangs can look forward to from this soft cock on crime government and its not going to get any better soon.

  1. Good to see the Mongrel MOG reacting with their petition. As The Veteran says, Simeon is getting under their skin. Let’s keep encouraging the Mongrel Mob help Simeon in his campaign! I am pretty sure I know whose side the general public will be on.
I wonder how many of the recent problems with the gangs involve people that Kelvin has given early release.

  2. Gang membership has doubled? Where can I inspect the register of members?

What did Notional do in their time warming the Treasury Benches? If they had the answers, why is there still a mongrel mob? Or is it only a case of them having “answers” when they are not in a position to implement them?

But hey, why not send the Army in? They could have a re run of the musket wars.

  3. LD … clearly your literacy skills are lacking somewhat. Didn’t say gang m’ship had doubled. A 50% increase since 2017 is only half a doubling so read and learn. As for the rest of your blather and if you want to defend the growth of gangs under the watch of ‘Dear Leader’ then be my guest. In fact I encourage you to do so. Defending the indefensible is never a great idea.

    • Doubled, trebled, quadrupled. Whatever.

      From you:

When he said in the House the other day that gangs were out of control under Labour. He was referring to the fact that gang membership has increased 50% since Ardern took office from 5,343 to 8,006.

That is an amazingly specific figure. So, I ask again, where is the membership list we may consult?

And what did Notional do when there shiny arses were on the treasury benches? And what is YOUR solution? It is easy to vent, but action is what is needed. Lead on.

I guess you are also happy that a school closed for 2 days to help with the tangi. Quite clearly normal behaviour for schools to close throughout NZ for days on end in such situations.
As I previously said in parts of NZ gangs effectively run their communities. But I guess Little Dorrit that’s how you want it. After all the Mongerl Mob is just a social organisation doing good works.

    • Yep, a school closed to assist an organised criminal gang that targets young people for drugs and prostitution.

New Zealand as you have it, as supported by Little Dorrit.

    • Wayne, where did I imply in anyway that I supported the actions of the Mob? I didn’t, and you damned well know it. But like Veteran, you are avoiding the questions I posed.

Where is this membership list that seems to be so accurate?

What did your party do while in government?

What realistic solutions do you propose?

Or is it easy to fire pot shots when you don’t have to back with action your remarks?

  6. LD … clearly you feel under pressure and are lashing out. Calm down, as I said earlier defending the indefensible is never good for the soul.

You questioned my figures … supplied by the Police to Parliament’s Justice Select Committee and are a matter of public record. Police Intelligence actively monitor gangs including gang numbers.

Gangs are part and parcel of the New Zealand criminal underworld. National kept them under control by keeping a hand on their throat. Your mob took their hand off the throat and replaced it with luv, hugs and kindness with the public at large now reaping the results of their ‘labours’. Soft cock policies don’t work with gangs. They see it as weakness and emboldens them to further defy the law.

Thanx a bitch to you and yours.

    • No pressure, and do you really think asking for further information is “lashing out”? God forbid your wife asks you to clarify if the wine you want is red or white.

Figures provided by the Police are their estimates or guesses, which is why I asked where one can inspect the actual membership lists. It is in the interests of the Police to inflate numbers to increase their funding / powers.

” National kept them under control …” which means that National either did not have the will or the courage to enact the required legislation. But I would also be interested to know how a political party kept its ‘hand on (the) throat” of a criminal enterprise. Are National synonymous with the Police, did National operate a quasi Police State?

Unlike you, I don’t have “a mob”; I am prepared to evaluate policies and cast my vote where I see the best interests of the nation would be served. Nor do I see law enforcement as a matter of who has the bigger dick; that might have worked in the Officer’s Mess, but not in day to day policing.

So, once again, what are your policy proposals? Or is asking that further “lashing out”?

  7. In some places the word ‘dorrit’ is used to describe a pustulent eruption found on the faces or arses of unintelligent fourteen year olds.

    May 28, 2021 at 2:33 pm

    • Noel … thank you for that but LD would have it that the figures are all lies.

  8. LD … more evidence that you are losing the plot. Now you are accusing the Police of misleading the Select Cttee … some might reference that as lashing out. You cannot outlaw gangs any more than you can outlaw racism but you can help curb gangs by active policing and active policing doesn’t include slashing Vote Police by $90m like your mob did in this years budget.

And WTF has the Officer’s Mess got to do with this. I haven’t set foot in an Officer’s Mess in nigh on 40 years but I do have links into the Police force via a son and his partner and I can tell you there is considerable disquiet among rank and file and higher over this and other matters with morale going south … again under your mobs watch. The standing joke … the Police Minister wants one page briefing notes with lotsa pictures.

I guess too you condone the death threats made against Simeon Brown and his family and rushed to sign the Mob’s petition..
