GFAZ

In 2020 in Seattle, Antifa booted the cops out of one part of the city and created the CHAZ, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, a fabulous new Anarcho-Communist area of the USA that began falling apart after a couple of days with food shortages and violence.

It looks like something similar has been created in Minneapolis, the George Floyd Autonomous Zone, an area around the site of Floyd’s death which has been barricaded, where Militants rule and the local cops are not welcome, although it seems that it’s only the police they want kept out rather than the rest of the system.

Not that the cops bother trying to go there anymore, especially having lost an incredible one third of their number in the last year, with the survivors well aware that they have zero backing from the community and the political leadership. Even the slightest mistake or mis-judgement will be pounced on as evidence of “police brutality” and likely “racism” as well. Why stick around for that.

“One of us is gonna get killed and nobody cares. And that’s what’s sad. Nobody cares. Not the citizens, not our brass. Not our administration, not our city. They don’t care. They don’t care one bit.”

Even the MSM are uninvited, as this reporter found out.

Several people have been shot and killed in the Zone, with no consequences. Incredibly some businesses in the area apparently still think they can save themselves by siding with these people, including one place that was torched during last year’s riots.

Reminds me of the classic Biblical story.

For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

Except in this case it’s not working, and the effects are spreading across the city:

… the prevalence of unjust killing and violence in the Twin Cities area has vastly increased since last summer’s protests and riots. Minneapolis recorded its second-most homicides ever in 2020 — after only 1995, when the city was ignobly dubbed “Murderapolis” in national media. And the trend has continued to escalate in 2021: between January 1 and April 25, the number of homicides increased by 92% compared to the same period in 2020.

A retroactive analysis showed a 537% increase in carjackings in one month — November 2020 — compared to November 2019. Yes, you read that correctly: 537%.

Good heavens! I’m stunned and amazed.

More than 80% of the shooting victims in 2020 were black.

This is my shocked face. Also, you’ll be stunned to learn that the vast bulk of these shootings were not committed by White Supremacists, the Proud Boys or any of the other boogeymen conjured up by the Democrat Party to justify their Washington D.C. hysteria dance of the last few months.

At least The Guardian covered it. On the left is the front page of the local paper, The Minneapolis Star Tribune, the next morning. They’re totally complicit in this with their No Enemies To The Left reporting narrative.

I did like this little caveat in that previous article:

Yes, it’s true: police are generally not credentialed experts in criminology or sociology, and their theories for complex multi-causal phenomena obviously should not be taken as gospel. Still, it is worth incorporating their viewpoint into any assessment of the overall situation.

That turns out to be not just a “Don’t hurt me for reporting an opinion” but a segue into telliing what the “non-police citizens” think. This one is my favourite:

Kevin C. is 22 years old and lives with his younger sister in their great-grandmother’s house off Lake Street in South Minneapolis — the epicenter of last summer’s riots and protests. He was a protester himself, and even had to jump out of the way during an infamous incident when a tanker truck nearly barreled into the crowd he was in on the interstate.

A few weeks ago, he said, there was a shooting in the alley behind his house — bullets were flying just yards from him and his sister. “The police came, but they didn’t really like, investigate,” he recalled. “They just shined their lights and then drove off.”

He said he’d noticed a steep decline in police presence lately, especially after last week’s trial of Derek Chauvin ended with a guilty verdict. “Even before the trial,” he said, “they would drive through here, but there wouldn’t be any, like, policing going on.”

It’s like,… you know,… like a complete mystery isn’t it Kevin? My suggestion is to join a local pistol club, buy an AR-15 at a minimum and get some firearms training: the NRA provides that. Nice people too.

I don’t think the reporter chose the following very well in further describing Kevin. I’ll just leave this here:

He is shortsighted, and said the eyeglasses store he used to go to down the street has been permanently shuttered since last summer.

The article goes into some backgrounds of the people who have been murdered, which is nice because otherwise they’d be forgotten by history, like 78 year old Maria Elena Mantini, who was stabbed to death at a bus stop on the morning of March 17.

But the criminals are just getting started. As the weather warms up so does the crime:

A nine-year-old Minneapolis girl is in the hospital after she was struck by gunfire over the weekend, making her the second child to be shot in the city in under a month. The girl was shot in the head while she played with friends on a trampoline

six people were shot in Minneapolis the same Saturday night.

The criminals are also getting bolder than just randomly shooting little girls:

Multiple police officers were injured throughout the night while responding to calls. In one case, officers were maced by someone with a “party can” of pepper spray when responding to a stabbing around 2:15 a.m. outside the Pourhouse on Hennepin Avenue, according to Crime Watch Minneapolis. Two officers were taken to the hospital about an hour earlier when a group of street racers threw rocks at the first responders.

This caused Police Chief Medaria Arradondo to conduct a press conference where he pleaded with judges to stop releasing violent offenders, which has been another Democrat policy across the USA with many elected District Attorney’s carrying it out (once again I note the similarity of Left policies in the USA and here). The Chief’s pleas will likely fall on deaf ears, judging by this response from none other than the City Council President Lisa Bender (love the mask):

Basically nothing has changed since this 2020 interview with the same evil moron.

With people like this in charge, “Murderapolis” is now well on the way to joining Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago and a bunch of other Democrat-run shit holes, and unlike the mid-1990’s when national Democrats like Bill Clinton and Joe Biden were keen to be tough on crime, I can’t see Minneapolis recovering this time around thanks to the culture change.

Minneapolis has been under total Democrat control for more than five decades, and they’ve been “progressive” Democrats too rather than those nasty old guys like Democrat National Committee member, Alabama’s ‘Bull’ Conner.

Democrat politicians and voters are just going to have learn the hard way, as one Democrat did a few days ago in Atlanta (shootings up 46 percent, murders up 59 percent and car thefts up 25 percent in the last year):

A councilman and mayoral candidate in Atlanta who backs the ‘Defund the Police’ movement and voted to cut the police budget by $73 million, was dragged from his car while it was being stolen Wednesday.

Brown held on and was dragged for a block before he let go… [he] says the thieves appear to be children from 7 to 11 years old … He claims it took 45 minutes for police to arrive because it was assigned as a low-priority dispatch.

Antonio Brown

Awwww! Somebody may need to explain to this utterly un-self aware asshole that when funding and staff get cut priorities have to be imposed, and it looks like carjackings are not as high up the list as he must have hoped when he called the cops.

Mmm… Mmm….. that is schadenfreudelicious.

But no word on whether it has changed his mind any more than Bender has changed hers. Given that he’s currently under indictment on charges of wire fraud, mail fraud, and bank fraud you’d have thought he’d have the decency to admire than handiwork of the boys rather than snitching on them to the cops.
