No Minister

So last week Ardern got called out by the motor industry for telling porkies re the (non) availability of EV utes following on from her decision to impose an additional tax on new and second hand petrol/diesel utes in order to offer an incentive to the drivers of Remuera tractors to switch to EVs. Applause from the Greens … going down like a cup of warm sick among tradies and rural NZL and the cause of a certain bewilderment in Labour’s heartland who of course are lining up in droves to take advantage of the gummit’s generosity.

And now hot on the heels of Mike King returning his ‘gong’ in protest of the lack of action by gummit in dealing with the mental health crisis where he accused Ardern of grandstanding … talking the talk but failing to walk the walk … the revelation that the much trumpeted $1.9b for mental health announced in the 2019 budget has seen an increase of just five, repeat five, extra acute mental health beds. By this standard Kiwibuild must be adjudged a roaring success.

And all we get from a sycophantic fawning media is a breathless commentary on ‘Neeve’s’ feekin third birthday cake.

New Zealand … the way you’ve got it.

  1. Not just Mallard who wanted the littler child protected from media and public exploitation, home affairs now revealed again as a distraction at defcon 3 and above, fortunate indeed that hypocrisy is odourless until the decay is discovered by those with connection to media. Sort of silence is golden if you will.

  2. At least on this blog you are not afraid to tell it like it is.
When I raised the “Clarke bakes a birthday cake” story on another popular blog my comment got moderated into non-existence because “don’t bring kids into it”.
Congratulations on having a sensible blog!!
