‘OUR’ CHIPPY ADDS ANOTHER STRING TO HIS BOW

With his Gold Medal performance of dancing on the head of a pin.

According to Hipkins the word ‘elimination’ which supposedly anchored his government’s Covid response was not to be taken in the dictionary sense … noun, the act of removing or getting rid of something … but rather some sort of aspirational goal which hasn’t quite worked out.

So on that score its Covid 1 vs Ardern Nil. No wonder the populace is becoming increasingly confused as Labour scrambles to redefine its strategy.

Bet Hipkins and Robertson are regretting their smart Alec gibe at National’s Covid Response Model when its clear that the country is heading towards a Covid Xmas with Labour in charge.

  1. They used all their limited reserves of intelligence to dream up that slogan. It must have taken the poor bastards hours. Nothing left for anything useful.

  2. To be fair to “Chippy” both J. Ardern and Grant Robertson have made themselves scarce as their flagship policies for managing this “crisis” go down in flames and have chosen to throw him to the wolves as the one who has to front up and concede they have been defeated.

Meanwhile like bad smell Souxie Wiles turns up.

Microbiologist Dr Siouxsie Wiles said the removal of sub-clusters from the daily reports was concerning.

“We know numbers are rising and this is just another sign for New Zealanders to brace themselves,” Wiles said.

And God help us all we have the “Vaxathon” to get through tomorrow

Hours of torture – washed up celebrities talking platitudes interspersed talentless entertainers from long ago warbling their long forgotten “hit” songs which should stayed forgotten

I am going to spend tomorrow hiding under my bed

    • Siouxsie Wiles – leading contender for New Zealand’s Hypocrite of the year. Heading off the persistent performances of Green Male Co-Leader James Shaw who has excelled in three hypocrisy disciplines but still not good enough to beat Siouxsie.

  4. Labour’s covid response: vaccines, scaremongering, and more vaccines. National’s covid response model: the same but with them in charge.

    • Harry … unfair and incorrect. Both National and ACT have chartered a way forward quite different from Labour. Yes, both support vaccinations but there the comparison ends.

  5. Vet – National and ACT both support vaccine passports – also known as totalitarianism. As far as I am concerned, one brand of totalitarian scum is much the same as another.

  6. At it’s heart this government cannot admit that it was wrong.

Being wrong as regards the early days of the Pandemic would be understandable and forgivable.

If the government had actually acted fast and hard in the early days of a great unknown rather than dithering as the rest of the world began to close it’s borders, then perhaps the reliance on lies and misdirection would have been unnecessary.

Instead of working constructively with others this government needs to gasp all the Covid glory to itself and when they are forced to change tack and adopt an idea originally put forward by others then the spin needed becomes extraordinary.

John key certainly set a them a flutter with the notion that the covid response needs an endgames and by putting forward some simple ideas that everyone could understand he really highlighted the lack of talent in our current leadership.

The attack dogs of course responded with vigour, but Key’s common sense comments must have resonated with some focus group because goverment is now trying to implement ideas that only a week or two ago they were savaging. Furthermore they don’t actually understand why they are doing it, which makes the pivot harder to justify.

A leader’s role is to take the advice of the experts from all sides and plot a rational middle roads.

The demands of the health professionals will of course emphasis a maximum health path, while economists and business would rather not be affected at all by the response.

The job of the PM is to plot a reasonably course of action which takes all needs into account and tweak as necessary. Jacinda appears wholly incapable of leading in this crisis and unlike Key cannot see a path forward out of this dilemma.

I for one am sick of being told that she’s taking advice from unnamed parties abroad, or that she had altruistically placed the needs of New Zealand behind those of other “Less fortunate” countries. I suspect the first is a ploy to justify actions which don’t have a defendable New Zealand rational, the second is most certainly a clumsy attempt to cover up considerable incompetence in the acquisition of vaccines.

That being said, Ardern is Prime Minister of New Zealand, why should we accept that she takes advice from mysterious anonymous persons abroad who may well not have the best interests of New Zealanders to heart, especially when we have considerable leadership expertise at home as Key just demonstrated.

Furthermore it is Ardern’s job to pursue the interests of New Zealander’s especially in times of crisis and to do anything else, to give up our advantages to be kind, is frankly treasonous.

Does Ardern serve New Zealand, or mysterious overseas interests?

We deserve an honest answer, but we’re unlikely to get one from this Prime Minister.

    • Cindy takes advice from Te Pūnaha Matatini, the excruciatingly woke academic group who accepted $6.1 million in COVID funding from Cindy, and dutifully hand over modelling outcomes hand-crafted to order.
