I’m over Covid and I suspect an increasing number of New Zealanders are saying Amen to that too. I’m over the breathless reporting that Covid has been detected in the waste-water of wherever sending that community into panic mode. I’m angry at the ongoing mismanagement of the entire MIQ system with breakouts now becoming common place and people isolating at home dying because the support promised to them arrived too late. I’m fed up with Covid modelers, secure in their taxpayer funded jobs, postulating that New Zealand could/should remain at Code Red for much of 2022. I am sick of Covid being used as the smokescreen allowing the Government to drive through a whole policy platform that they concealed from the electorate at the time of the last election. I am sick of the lies; sick of the country being divided on racial lines; sick of the economy going south at a rate of knots; sick of the effective muzzling of the media; I’m sick of it all.

When will the government learn there are limits to what you can impose? … that Covid is here to stay for the foreseeable future and that we have to learn to live with it.

And when will we see a modeler with the balls to report on the cost of the collateral damage caused by continued lock-downs … the number of elective surgeries postponed cancelled and the deaths resulting from that; the number of suicides; the number of students who have, for whatever reason, simply walked away from the classroom; the number of business gone bust?

And we won’t even talk about how gangs have become empowered and emboldened by St Jacinda’s determination to be kind to anyone and everyone (taxpayers excepted) nor will we ever know the true cost of the increase in domestic violence as a result of repeated lockdowns..

I’m over it and sick of it and worry about the long term damage and effect all of this has on the fabric of society. New Zealand, the way you’ve got it with more to come.
