Farrar this morning has another distinct example of Ardern’s paucity of veracity.
Remember when doubts emerged as to the reasonableness, appropriateness or simple need for the business destructive lockdowns, it was all based on MoH advice that placed dear St Ashley of the Pestilence next into the breech of the howitzer when it failed to fire.
Well in further emphatic evidence MoH nor any other available whipping boy is a prevarication of facts the recent advice might have recommended some different decisions to those enacted politically under pressure from polling and much more likely some serious duress from her increasingly emboldened East Polynesian thugs.
Farrar ends his little expose with”
It was Jacinda’s personal decision to over-ride the advice and keep restrictions going for longer than deemed necessary.
I appreciated this comment over there from Benedict Yu, who is fully vaxxed and has argued the point for months with those who are not – but without being nasty and while still insisting that it’s their choice and that he’s not afraid of them. As he points out though about other people:
On that last I don’t agree. I’m sure those same frightened people will be forever grateful to Ardern for saving their lives, and given the numbers of them – including more than a few National and ACT party people, judging by those comment threads – she’ll be judged well.
And that’s as it should be because ultimately this is down to those people. The government’s and MSM scare campaign, implicitly and sometimes explicitly supported by “Opposition” politicians scared of losing more votes than in 2020, would not have worked if we had a population that was not so trusting of them.
Hi Tom,
Unfortunately a proportion of people will always succumb to the level of BS that has been flowing out from the govt & msm. It would just go contrary to the types of people that can exist in a cohesive society if people could resist it. Maybe if we were post-communist and therefore not trusting of govt, but most just don’t have the experience to deal with this, and our government have been relatively trustworthy.
Personally, I am stunned at what the govt and msm have done in the same way that BY is. Even though overreacting early would have been the logical thing to do, it always has to be proportionate to the thread as it reveals itself.
