The last three quarters of inflation released by Stats NZ have come in at 4.9, 5.9 and 6.9!
What are the odds for those three that so narrowly avoided the so much more disheartening rounded number at 5, 6 and 7.
Could it be possible that a bunch of “mandarins” could be so all powerful, their calculations came up with such reassurance in the face of ample evidence of more serious price hikes facing the poorest and most vunrable precarious, just managed to get lucky?
Btw how many of those erstwhile Mandarins sitting around the pre publication meeting had a minor inclination to avoid issuing “bad news”?
