No Minister

His advice in David Copperfield was this: ‘
Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 19 [pounds] 19 [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 20 pounds ought and six, result misery.’

Of course all now ancient history and rendered redundant as Debtors Prisons, Poor Houses, and other instruments created for dealing with societal casualties are now replaced with Welfare. A system with almost no empathy, solutions or motivational aspects so vital for Human advancement, yet grasped by generations of socialists in spite of widespread failure at every level tried so far. Socialism just does not fit the human spirit that seeks self improvement and eschews watching the idle and slothful hanging around like poodles or dachshunds at a “meat block” while Jack Russells are away seeking a rabbit in a briar patch.

Redistribution of wealth, taxing the accumulators and earners, who almost to a person will assist a truly needy one resulting from health impairment or injury incurred from life’s often inexplicable variables, while having a barely disguised contempt and disgust for anyone who chooses a life of indolence, all outcomes that fly in the face of socialism ever approaching success in any form.

Margaret Thatcher so wonderfully summed up the likelihood of socialism surviving with “Socialism will only last so long as other people’s Money is available to sustain it”
New Zealand with an Adult population of around 3 000 000 with over 300 000 variously not in the workforce that seems to be an unemployment rate nearer 10% not the massaged manipulated 3.2 percent the Gummint and their simples enabling them, claim, why the hell do some angst about unaffordable pensions.

While Robbernomics is replacing Rogernomics and Ruthenomics what is to stress about.
Perhaps a thought for the Day might be a Day Of ReJoycing or The English Patient, could such be a remedy awaiting as we are Willising a solution while labouring under a dream of becoming a Luck Luxuriating society.
Enough he cried and cried in vain?

  1. `Robbernomics’ so true and needs more exposure.

    Happy to work on that.
