It seems like an appropriate photo: Harvest in central Serbia (Photo: Decak iz Topole & Dascira).

Meh. Argument is the stuff of life. Having said that I really don’t know what I could say to this young woman.

The bad news is that she’s kinda cute so the lack of re-production is a shame. That cannot be said about the following, for which I can only say, Thank You.

I’m going to make this a permanent, reusable block.

The crudity continues.

We had a pretty good Thanksgiving, complete with homemade KFC-style chicken, courtesy of one of my kids who has spent considerable time tracking down the 11 herbs and spices. Pretty close. Sorry to spoil the thoughts with another piece of Clinton history.

I can imagine many things I would like to say to this young woman, Taylor Swift – starting with advice on her clothing choices.

For those who don’t get the joke (including Swift I’m sure)

Yes, yes. The following is crude – but I laughed.

Ok, so let’s have some non-crude NASA. This is a screenshot of our planet that I caught last night just before the timer said was the “best view”, courtesy of a live stream from the Artemis spacecraft currently orbiting the Moon. Below is a view of the Moon taken from another camera. These are the first such images captured in fifty years. Is it not as good when you know that there are no humans taking the pictures?

Back on Earth there are more wonderful images. The photographer reckons the bird freaked as the weasel jumped on its back and the rest was accident. Both animals survived the encounter.

Back to humans. These are scarily accurate.

What is it with President Biden and young girls? Can he not just stay away from them?

Meanwhile, the relentless critics of Elon Musk and his ownership of Twitter really need to look at how he’s handled similar crap in other situations:

Good to see Minnesota is bedding down for the long Northern Winter by naming their snowplows.

Speaking of white stuff…

I ask this because I don’t know.
What’s with the hate-fest that I keep reading around Taylor Swift?
I admit to have never, knowingly, heard the noise she sells but from what I read she sells a lot. She appears, as in the picture, to be one of the very few noise-makers who don’t pretend they’re whore-strippers to promote themselves.
The photo shows her wearing a cloth most of our grandmothers would have been happy wearing in a style that appears to be comfortable.
I’ve also never read of her demanding the world goes woke – although my interest is such I’ve read SFA about her and am unlikely to remedy that.
I don’t understand the negativity.
Enlighten me.
As Tay-Tay says in “Shake it off”: “And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate”
Well personally I like her a lot, for her looks, talent, and that she seems like a decent stick. Almost a decade ago Beloved Daughter was taken to one of her concerts here in NZ by Beloved Wife and the latter said it was one of the best concerts she’d ever been too, despite not knowing much about the music before she walked in.
Courtesy of the former, who is a big fan, though not unaware of her issues, here are just some of the following Reasons Why She’s Hated.
As she’s moved from the world of Country music to Pop she’s become more embedded with the Woke crowd. This has caused some resentment on the part of the former group, who feel they’ve been abandoned on more levels than just music, and thus eye her suspiciously. She was pressured by her new peer group for years to “get political” and eventually she did, on most of the predictable issues with the predictable stances. However, she’s never seemed very enthusiastic – which also causes suspicion among that crowd.
Then there are those who just hate her music. There are those who, while not hating it, feel that far too much of it continues to derive from her love life, as if she was still writing for teenyboppers: and why isn’t she addressing the Big Issues, etc, etc?
Then there are the “personal” relationships – starting with none other than the idiot known as Kanye West a decade ago, who seemed to resent her seemingly because she was a White Girl who rose to stardom fast. Other female singers seem to enjoy taking shots at her, starting with Katy Perry, again possibly because of jealousy at her success, especially as it continues while their careers stall or decline.
Finally, it would seem that she is resented or hated because she seems to be very smart when it comes to managing her career, between how her albums are released and tours set up. That plus a distinct “good girl” vibe that she has never shaken, and which thus seems natural, raises concerns that she’s more about cold-blooded business than passionate artist, with all that that implies.
According to BD, this is a short list. 🙂
Thank you Tom, I do learn something new every day.
