Christopher Luxon has been making it very clear what the National Party in 2023 stands for, and it’s not for New Zealand. I’m not sure when National changed its reason for being, and I doubt many of it’s supporters realise it yet, but National stands for NZ the way Labour stands for the working man – not in the slightest.
There was something extremely chilling in today’s about-face declaration of loyalty to Net Zero 2050 and man-made climate from Maureen Pugh. She was a woman with her own opinion at the start of the day and merely a drone by the end. Whatever her opinion had been, it was subsumed into the collective adherence to the quasi-religious cult of climate change, a cult of which the National Party is now an overly enthusiastic participant, and likely has been for some time.

What happened today reminded me of a Bill Maher video : Bill Maher has an OMINOUS warning for America. Though, he could have been talking about any nation of earth that is infected with the woke mind virus. Some excerpts below:
If you are part of today’s Woke Revolution, then you need to study the part of revolutions where they spin out of control because the revolutionaries get so drunk on their own purifying elixer, that they imagine they can reinvent the very nature of human beings.
Bill Maher

Mao ordered his citizens to throw off the “Four Olds”.
Old Thinking
Old Culture
Old Customs
and Old Habits
So, um your whole life would have been garbage overnight, no biggie.
Bill Maher

And those who resisted were attacked by an army of purifiers called the “Red Guard”, who went around the country putting dunce caps on people. Yeah, who didn’t take to being a new type of mortal being.
Bill Maher

A lot of pointing and shaming went on… oh and about a million dead.
And the only way to survive was to plead insanity for the crime of being insufficiently radical
Then apologise and thank the state for the chance to see what a piece of shit you are.
Bill Maher

And, of course, submit to re-education.

National MP Maureen Pugh regrets her ‘unclear’ comments on man-made climate change
Luxon told media he had met with Pugh and she will be reading a series of books on climate change.
Obviously the National Party under Luxon does not stand for freedom of expression and questioning ideology.
First: Simon O’Connor
Then: Maureen Pugh
I am now moving from Electorate Vote National, Party Vote ACT to two ticks ACT.
I’m doing a protest vote as ACT wants to expand eligibility for euthanasia.
It really won’t matter if Labour or National get in – we are on the same path anyway – so why not kick them where it hurts. They can look at all those lost votes and wonder how they might have done better.
“Obviously the National Party under Luxon does not stand for freedom of expression and questioning ideology.”
There’s no way these people can be trusted
I thought at the start it was a major mistake to elect a leftist Luxon as leader. Now I know better. National is a leftist party who has long since sold out people who have supported them forever.
Total fools all of them and a pox on their house.
I used to think we had a choice between terrible and really really terrible but how to identify which is worse?
I once thought that we needed to vote National to defeat 3 waters and co governance but I’m sure now they will betray us on this also.
Reblogged this on Utopia, you are standing in it!.
I do hope someone will send this video to Ms. Pugh and perhaps even Luxon and Willis: former Obama energy Department leader of their Climate Change & Energy Strategy section, Steve Koonin, speaking at the 2021 Global Warming Policy Forum (GWPF) in Britain about his book “Unsettled” and what the Science does and does not say about Climate change..
Here’s just one slide that Ms Pugh could be carrying in her jacket when confronting these pig ignorant MSM assholes.

You know, information like this is heresy… what was James Shaw’s comment recently (will have to find it) .. something like, he doesn’t engage with climate deniers (ie, heretics).
The joke is that when you look at the real fanatics on this issue, like Idiot Savant over at NoRightTurn, they constantly unload about how useless Labour have been on emissions reductions, and even take shots at the Greens and Shaw (Bradbury over at TDB asked what Shaw had actually done in the last five years).
In other words, when it comes to actions there’s no difference between the True Believers and the Deniers. Actually, as DPF enjoys pointing out, the GHG emissions were worse under Labour (Clarke) and this shower than under Key’s National government.
And of course the reason for that – the reason none of these clowns are honest about it – is that they know the actions needed to be taken if this was real crisis, are just too drastic and harmful to ordinary people. Close Huntly as NRT wants? Heh! Sure. You first!
I was disgusted with Luxon and the National Commissariat when I heard the news.
Do they think ALL National voters have the same opinion as their dusty and out of touch playbook? Instead of the party of “our policies are the same as the lefts but we will implement them faster” why don’t they try something that speaks of freedom to have a range of opinions and solutions, that respects a variety of opinions and issues across their party membership and will look for real solutions, not ending our efficient and effective agricultural and dairy industries to instead import crickets from China.
They’ve just showed their true colours. It shouldn’t really come as a surprise Zen
I asked a week or so ago whether Luxon was a Labour plant.
The Pugh affair answers that question.
I am disappointed with Maureen. She should have shown more integrity by not submitting to Luxon and Willis but instead she should have walked!
Not surprised at all.
THE surprise is that more people have not figured out that National are not our friends. Their history is pathetic. Both Luxon and Willis would be more comfortable in the Labour Party.
Worse: Luxon has been exposed as a greenie – woke, weak and untrustworthy.
Nice to see at least one ex-National MP with some brains and decency, Barry Brill: The Great Flood – Religion vs Science:
Perhaps Luxon has taken all those criticisms of his Christian faith to heart and changed religions? As Brill quotes from Michael Crichton’s take on Environmentalism twenty years ago:
That’s brilliant!
Barry Brill has tried, to little avail, to get his voice heard at various National party conferences.
It’s sad what this party has become.
Luxon, Hipkins and the Greens will be shocked, SHOCKED, at this news, India Invokes Maximum Energy Output Law from Coal Plants:
How many [cute, adorable] cows does Luxon want slaughtered?
He has signed up for any mad scheme the Greens (and Labour) have, and might come up with, because we are certainly in a catastrophic emergency (sic). He can’t go arguing against grossly harmful policies when we’re in such a parlous state (sic)
I feel so profoundly depressed to realize that the best we have to look forward to is a wet woke tool like luxon to lead us.
What a monumental fool.
OC, better to know now, than later, when it’s too late.
So far, he has disappointed:
* the anti-mandate, anti-vaxers (sane people)
* the anti-abortionists, pro-lifers (sane people)
* the man-made global warming deniers (sane people)
Have I left anyone out?
You could almost forgive him for disappointing the first group, because of the excuse of mass-hysteria.
You could almost forgive him for disappointing the second group (even though he could have said that abortion right up to birth is much too far) because of cowardice.
But now we are into territory that has been fought over decades, and potentially thoroughly discredited by 2010 (with the sop of carbon credits thrown at it); to now being resurrected like the undead zombie that it is; and we find that conformity to the lie by every MP of the National Party is being enforced by their leadership, if you could call it that.
I do wonder what other part of National’s voter base will the alienate next.
Luxon recently talked about adaptation and mitigation – as Seymour does – but this is almost a temper tantrum, and it blew all that “moderate” stuff up by revealing that he may be just as much of an extremist on this issue as the Greens (and his deputy Willis had a public reaction on TV1 that was even worse; really angrily spitting the words out).
Since he doesn’t show much capability for arguing his corner on any subject, when he does try to argue that some Green/Labour policy is “extreme” he’s going to be told that he’s a Climate Change Denier and then he’ll fold like a cheap suit.
The funny thing is that just as he’s folding even some of the most extreme screamers on the issue are beginning to move in the same direction of adaptation. Chris Trotter’s latest, Adapting to Climate Change and “Bomber” Bradbury’s Isn’t it time we were honest about climate change:
Oh sure, they’re both on the Big Government bandwagon, restored MOT and all, but if even they can see that Carbon Zero 2050 is a fantasy…..?
Apparently these are National Party values:
1 – Loyalty to our country, its democratic principles and our Sovereign as Head of State
2 – Recognition of the Treaty of Waitangi as the founding document of New Zealand
3 – National and personal security
5 – Equal citizenship and equal opportunity
6 – Individual freedom and choice
7 – Personal responsibility
8 – Competitive enterprise and rewards for achievement
9 – Limited Government
Strong families and caring communities.
Sustainable development of our environment
The cult of climate change is antithetical to values # 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
“she will be reading a series of books on climate change”
Love to know what the reading list includes!
Al Gore, David Attenborough, Marx, Lenin
Holy cow.
Is this Luxon’s “Nicola Sturgeon” issue?
And he’s too oblivious to realise?
It’s the attached video interview that is worth watching; ignore the idiot rantings of David Mohring.
Add bully
and misogynist to that list . I reckon hes a secret one. Ive seen this behaviour before.
Thanks Lucia
Christ what a supercilious, arrogant, overbearing, ignorant wanker.
I feel sorry for Maureen, (and the country)
The IPPC report is based on a whole series of computer generated model outcomes, all have been proven to be flawed.
Just take clouds for instance, to quote
“The radiative effect of the clouds is about four to five times larger than the radiative effect expected from a doubling of CO2 concentration”. In other words clouds cool the world by radiating heat back.
And
“Cloud modelling is an undertaking that may have something in common with the development of nuclear fusion: the timescale is dynamically linked to the current date and is postponed again every time one asks. The reality is that the modelling of cloud formation and evolution is still in its infancy stages, and will probably remain there for quite some more time.
Besides the presence of over-saturated water vapor, another decisive factor in the formation of clouds is the type and spatial density of aerosol particles that are needed as nuclei for the germination of water droplets.”
Luxon is a pig ignorant fool and it was on full display!!
Settled science, they cant even get tomorrows weather forecast right!!!
