Gosh — an “indigenous” taxpayer trough getting hit by a feeding frenzy of nepotistic, box-ticking chancers? Who could have ever foreseen it?
Usually Senators in most countries are a higher caliber of person than the House of Representatives counterparts. However, the way the Aussie system works seems to produce the opposite result. They’re unfortunately the equivalent of our list MPs, but even worse. Forget Caligula, there are literal nags in the Aussie Senate!
