Because I count at least four, even though it’s merely a rather desperate email sent out in mid-March 2023 from the Chief of Defence Forces in New Zealand.
I’ll let readers look at it and make suggestions as to what they think it shows about not just the NZDF but New Zealand as a whole.
But no chocolate fish prizes.

As an exercise in futility try and imagine the media and opposition response when this occurred under a National/Act coalition?
Poor old nz has its pants round its ankles sitting in a latrine with no paper and no water?
I’m hoping that someone will tell me it’s fake, because I really, really want it to be not real.
AFAIK the Aussies are not having these problems, but I suspect we have commonalities with the USA:
In other words, were they trying to maintain the numbers of just two years ago the US Army would be at 64.5%.
Bribe set at $3600 I believe.
Can you be more specific?
A per head payment maybe? Second hand so that may not be 100% accurate but sounds credible. Watch and see I guess.
My son left the Army 14 month’s ago after having done 13 stints at MIQ and finishing return of service in his heavy Diesel trade, he’s now working in WA on $70 per hour and loving it. He hated MIQ and the pathetic wages so couldn’t wait to leave and from what he says all of his intake classmates have done the same and left. The manning situation is going to get considerably worse he reakons. I ran into an old navy shipmate recently who’s just about to leave after 35 old years in and his quoted pay was laughable compared to mine, Im also still seagoing but went the civvy route after leaving.
Tom I am the same (ex-stoker RNZN) and left the navy 11 years ago and went to Offshore Oil and Gas (Taranaki) and am now working coastal shipping. Spoke to some young stokers on Anzac Day and they are all leaving because they can get better paying jobs and still go home every night. Some are going to work at Data Centers on over $90k p.a. (starting salary too) and the job involves walking around with a clip board just like the outside runner on the Leanders.
