The first Tweet concerns a question that many people in the West have continued to deny, which is why Putin is still popular in Russia.

I say deny because there are more than a few who just say that the place is a dictatorship and his “popularity” amounts to the same thing as Saddam Hussein winning elections with 99.7% of the vote back in the day in Iraq, or elections in the old USSR or any of the Warsaw Pact nations.

But as always there’s more to it than that, and Konsantin Kisin, who emigrated with his parents from Russia to Britain in 1993, has a better handle on that bigger picture than most.

Then there’s this other leader and his oligarchy and sycophants, who gathered to clap like seals for him at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner the other night even as he insulted them. As I recall, President Trump didn’t bother attending these events, knowing what the MSM were like with him already and having seen what they did with GW Bush. I would hope that no GOP President will attend in the future either. They’re not journalists, they’re Democrat Party Operatives With Bylines and should be treated as such.

President Biden certainly treats them as if they are and amazingly it’s a CNN journalist who calls out his own comrades about this.

Sadly Mr Jennings himself has not yet figured out that his fellow MSM journalists don’t care and are not ashamed about all this. They’re all in on it with Biden and company and they’ll seal-clap him even as he insults them and badly mangles already poor jokes.

And as a follow-up to the post about the LA Times WH Reporter feeding questions to Biden in advance (Die MSM, Die – Part 9 billion), the Washington Post at least decided to just fess up – and claim it’s no problem at all since they’ve done it for years, at least as far back as GW Bush. To which Ace has the appropriate response:

Oh yeah, sure sure sure, the media was running a con on the American people to make George W. Bush look prepared and knowledgeable. As you well know, The media was heavily invested in making Bush look prepared and knowledgeable and giving him a heads up about difficult questions they planned to ask about Iraq and Abu Ghraib.

And even if that were true – and I think it’s just bullshit – it would still be corrupt. Telling the president in advance what you’re going to ask so he can call on you with a nice, written answer all prepared for that question that he can just read out.

It reminded me very much of a book from years ago called The Court of the Red Tsar, which detailed, among other things, the way that Stalin, once his power was cemented in the late 1930’s, constantly humiliated his Politburo members by getting them drunk, and dancing until dawn.
