So said the leader of Northern Ireland’s Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), Sammy Wilson, following a series of gaffes by “President” Joe Biden during his recent visit to Ireland.
Given the lack of meat in the trip, and the quick, dismissive treatment of the politicians he met there, especially the British, it seems to me that it was less about Britain and Ireland than about shoring up the Irish-American Democrat vote back home in preparation for 2024.
And of course that’s part of the joke. His surname is English, meaning, appropriately enough, “from the Shadow Valley.” He wasn’t born in Ireland and neither were his parents or grandparents. You have to go all the way back to one great great grandfather on his mother’s side for his claim to Irish heritage. Ed Condon put it best in the Spectator:
“Biden is as ‘Irish’ as Disney Land’s Magic Kingdom is ‘European.’… For all his brandishing of rosary beads, Biden’s Catholicism is a mirage, blaring the colors and sounds of religion without its inconvenient truths… an ‘Irish Catholic’ schtick as authentic as green beer, masking total conformity to the modern morality of the secular left.”
Even treating the trip as more domestic voting than foreign policy the gaffes were neverending – and no, it wasn’t his stupid confusion of the All Blacks with the Black and Tans, which was merely funny – but this one that was the worst (and what Wilson was responding to):
“And one of the things – I got to go back – not what I had planned on talking about, but I got to go back to Ireland for the – for the – the Irish Accords, to make sure they weren’t – the Brits didn’t screw around and Northern Ireland didn’t walk away from their commitments.”
His comments caused widespread anger in the UK with former Northern Ireland Secretary Shailesh Vara among the critics.
“This is deeply regrettable that President Biden has to use such language to further his re-election chances in the US,” he told the Evening Standard.
He’s not the only political idiot of course: remember this from 2020:
“So yes, Trump has been bad for the Western Alliance nations. He has fundamentally weakened the Alliances. Biden will get them working again.“
There is an Biden ocean of such stuff from which to pick, but at this stage it’s probably best to select the most recent as they demonstrate the continuing decline. There are other cringe videos at the previous link. He’s still being protected by the MSM, although given his polling lows, this article questions whether that’s actually working any longer?

I used to grow vegetables and I grew Cabbages that made much more sense than that puppet, pleasing to view, good presentation, long lasting and in their silence quite companionable.
Seems there is at least a few Lefties who’ve also noticed, even though as Far Lefters their motives are obvious. But Jacobin Magazine saw the same thing that other honest people saw in 2020:
And he’s even worse now. Even though I suspect I know the answer I still find it hard to believe that the Democrat Party are going to sink so low as to try and run this guy again in 2024. Do they really think that nobpdy else can beat Trump?
Of course, with ballot harvesting laws in place in the key Electoral College swing states, and having got a lot of what they wanted in two years via controlling a puppet via committee maybe they don’t care?
