Singapore actually upholds its laws. Including capital punishment for dealing drugs.
Its culture of personal responsibility and respect for authority is another huge difference to here.
And of course, the elephant in the room: Singapore doesn’t have a significant population of people not too long removed from stone age cultures than need to be coddled financially from cradle to grave in order to be even remotely capable of performing somewhat functionally in a 21st century society.

In Singapore the judicial system, is to my mind is barbaric, with its judicial corporal punishment., floggings and hangings
On the other hand it is an orderly society that presumably suits the majority of Singaporeans who are happy to live in a graffiti free zone where young women are not drugged and raped on a daily basis

Here we are in the 21st century with a war in Europe where another country invaded another sovereign country.

Whose ancestors were living a “stone age” existence more recently? The Chinese Singaporeans or the Anglo Saxons whose current generation of women practice the stone age practices of bodily mutilation being tattooed and pieced self entitled harridans and whose current generation of young men’s idea of being a warrior is to be sitting on a living room sofa playing “Call of Duty”.

Singapore, which this post is about is a prosperous society, where public amenties function reliably and the streets are clean and safe.
It would be legitimate to debate whether the draconian laws and fearsome punishments for violating them produce these desirable results and if so would they translate to a New Zealand context and produce the same results here or whether there are some other cultural artifacts in play
The post invites that debate but by the second comment has fallen into the rabbit hole of racism suggesting the Singaporeans were in some way inferior and more primitive than the White Master Race
I do have to chuckle at how easily the term “Anglo Saxons” has slipped into Andrei’s vocabulary in the last year. I don’t ever recall you using it in all the years I’ve been reading your comments.
