Labour have announced their slogan for the election:
Chris Hipkins has announced Labour’s 2023 campaign slogan will be “In it for you”.

“While I’ve only been in the job six months, I hope New Zealanders know I’m in it for them and I understand the challenges they’re facing,” Hipkins said in a statement on Sunday.
Do shut up. You don’t understand the challenges facing New Zealanders like me. A slogan doesn’t fix it either, how about some actual policy from the real world, not your student politician fantasy land you and your muppets exist in.
To help our PM understand the challenges, here is just a small list of things for which he either has no policy, or else has policies actively making it worse:
- Will my son be taught things like science and maths at school, or will he be taught gender ideology and pagan animalistic rituals
- Will I ever be able to afford to buy a house?
- Will someone ever do something about the mentally ill and drug users clogging the streets in the plague of homelessness swamping all of our cities?
- If I get sick, should j just go off shore for proper healthcare, not that I can afford it anyway?
- Will the NZDF ever be funded or equipped to be of value to our allies and partners in an increasingly unstable region?
- Will anyone ever wean NZ off our unsustainable trading dependence on China?
- Will someone stop the gangs?
Those are just some of the challenges I am facing.
A stupid slogan isn’t going to fix that.
“In it for you” -yes, Hipkins did have intentions to have “it in for me”

I haven’t forgotten.
This slogan will be a creation by Megan Woods known in our house (since before the 2017 election) as Miss Piggy.
Unfortunately the press statement contains a very serious typo. The correct statement is:
IN IT FOR US!!!
Us being the full Labour Caucus none of whom want to lose the big dosh they are presently receiving..
Re the house prices – I agree. A grown step-daughter who can’t afford anything, and has given up. Two young children who I don’t see will be able to afford anything in New Zealand.
And we all know the cause: Zoning rules that make land far too expensive. And the lefties pretend that they want to solve it, but they really don’t. One oft-cited reason is that it will make people who live just outside the Auckland urban limit very rich. SO WHAT?</b. At the moment, this over-regulation is making everyone very poor!
But that’s the mind of the lefty. Everyone suffers so that “rich pricks” can’t prosper.
Quite apt with “Let’s do this”, “Nothing to see here”, “Let’s keep moving”, “I refute the premise”, “Build back better” and other mindless tosh from the word salads so contemporary today.
If Chipkins Bonfire strategy had a bit of inherent credence maybe “Lets join together and repair the Damage”
“Stepped in it for you.” Good to know.
Almost as bad as the Biden slogan: “Let’s finish America off”.
In it for us
And our nearest and dearest.
In it for you right up passed our snouts.
In it for you and boy have we suffered for you.
In it for you to try harder next time around
In it for you, but really for us.
In it for you as we need to tax you more
In it for You, but really I mean the Maoris’ and the gangs
In it for you but not if you hold down a job.
Close. What he really means is: “We have got it in for you.”
