An excellent article by former ACT MP, Dr Dr Muriel Newman at the website New Zealand Centre for Political Research (NZCPR) where she takes a look at the constitutional scam that Labour tried to pull off after the 2020 election.
Former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was so obsessed with controlling the narrative that in early 2020 she declared “unless you hear it from us, it is not the truth’.”
She issued ‘gagging orders’ to Ministers preventing them from speaking to journalists, saying “brief written statements” were acceptable, but only after they’d been “signed off” by her Office.
Her paranoia became so extreme that a US company was commissioned to undertake social media surveillance. Hundreds of “social listening” reports containing private message excerpts and profile pictures were delivered to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet over a two-year period starting in 2020.
Criticism of Prime Minister Ardern was likely to be categorised as conspiracy or disinformation and investigated by a vast array of taxpayer-funded agencies including the Disinformation Assessment and Response Team, the National Centre for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism, and the Disinformation Project.
I first became aware of this via a mate buried in the bureaucracy who quietly informed me that my writings here on No Minister about the lockdowns and other aspects of the Chinese Lung Rot response had “come to the attention” of people he knew, so it wasn’t just Twitter and Facebook posts that were caught up in that net. I responded that it sounded like bullshit; a small blog appearing on the radar? Come on. Having said that, there have been one or two things that have happened to me in real life that have left me wondering if he was right?
The rest of the article looks at this attitude, approach and actions when combined with the proposed “Hate Speech” laws, He Puapua, and our uncritical MSM with their OIJF funding. There are also suggestions as to how the new coalition government might be helped – some might say “nudged” – along the way.
It’s a toxic brew and the mere election of a new centre-right government has only stopped it for the moment. Like the liquid metal, T1000 Terminator it’s merely frozen in place, waiting to be warmed into action again by the hot breath of a future Labour-Green-Te Paiti Maori government
It’s interesting that it seems you got ‘noticed’. fakebook and youtube were heavily censored at the time, which is why I now rarely use them. I’ve published my experiences thru those years as objectively as I could to record those times.
Least we forget.
