Just before 10 30 am there was a male, clearly a teacher, maybe a PPTA or NZEI activist who was defending the status quo in spite of the clear fact three years of declining outcomes herald absolute disastrous failure.
A first question for such arrogant nonsense Ms Rudkin might just be “do you consider a Union is qualified to be advising on Education Policy?”

The release of data following latest NCEA standards including a three year decline suggests to me the current persons at all levels need immediate replacement or at least a review as to suitability in current roles.
It may well suit socialists to have an army of voters too poorly educated to understand how disastrous current education outcomes are for any future New Zealand survival but is that a suitable reason to continue allowing the worsening situation to continue.
Yes The Lock outs and other badly formulated responses to the Chinese Lung Rot crisis. have had a deleterious effect on many facets of New Zealand life, not just Education and if such destructive actions have not been addressed failure is an only outcome.
However in Business, such failure leads to insolvency and ending of the enterprise, education not so. The failures there are accepted and perpetrated with seemingly no reaction.
Attendance at any figure below high ninety percent is unacceptable. yet we are being told such figures have fallen below fifty percent, answer, apparently zero, nada, non existent.
Such is totally unacceptable, yes I do understand education will no be for all and there are sufficient successful people out there who departed school quite early but dumb people do not succeed in general.

The issue we have in New Zealand is that the teachers need to be educated in order to educate. And the teachers also need to have suitably developed programs which would elevate students to the stature of those that teach them. But hey, the kiwi way has morphed from books to jandals and hence the poor results. I was an NCEA supervisor, when the famous first 45 minutes were over there was a stampede to reach the exit….
