I’ve never been and I would love to. Given its latitude it’s not surprising that this photo reminds me of the McKenzie Basin, with its brown tussock. But for now I’ll have to rely on the wonderful Bruce Chatwin book, In Patagonia, plus videos like the one below.
I have visited Arizona a couple of times, with one trip for a wonderful couple of days at the Grand Canyon, which included a great steak meal in a restaurant perched right on the edge. It was April and it’s at altitude, which we rather forgot given all the desert scenery – and as a result damned near froze on the way back to our cabin as it snowed.
But I’ve never done the following and it looks cool, yet not dangerous or beyond my skill levels (maybe?).
The following also looks cool and might also be Arizona, but I don’t know.
Patagonia has a substantial Welsh speaking community.
Argentina is an amazing country, I’ve been there 11 times and El Calafate in Patagonia was one of many highlights.
Lovely place, pity about the Governments!!!!
Eleven times????
Bloody hell.
It’s never been on my bucket list but maybe I’ll get there once before I leave this Earth.
Been there twice.
