That seems entirely appropriate, both in the wake of GD’s “pistol-packing” post yesterday and the name of the ship for a guy who doesn’t know which way around a telescopic sight should be (or the member of the crew who set the weapon up for him).

Okay. The Naval Academy is not Marine Boot Camp or even West Point, but you would think that even the Navy’s “basic” training would include learning how to shoot firearms.
