The Herald Headline says.

Ngāpuhi leaders walk out of meeting with Christopher Luxon in protest.

Is this a first step that Christopher Luxon is going to hold his ground on matters Maori and Co Governance or is it just that temperamental Ngapuhi activists and Leaders do not like being told of further Coalition plans that may or may not affect all New Zealanders.

The first three sentences sum up the Ngapuhi reaction and what their spokesman said:

Ngāpuhi leaders have walked out of a meeting with the Prime Minister in a protest over coalition Government policies.

Chair Mana Tahere said the delegation would not sit in the room in silence with a government it said was running roughshod over Māori.

He says there is frustration and dissatisfaction over the way the Government is treating Māori.`’

Oh and by the way NZ Herald – New Zealanders call the City where this happened Auckland.

My final comment is this:

If Christopher Luxon did hold his ground does this mean we might see a new attitude from the National part of the Coalition Government on.

  1. Co-Governance as presently proposed with the Fast Track Legislation.
  2. Support for the Treaty Principles Legislation including getting Winston Peters and NZFirst on board with this.

It will be very good news if this is the case but I am not holding my breath.
