This time it is the Police Recruitment People.
While quickly browsing the Hawkes Bay Today Newspaper website – the good daily paper that dissolved into ridiculousness when the Herald took it over I stumbled across an article that said the Police will be recruiting in Waipukurau (for all of Central Hawkes Bay) this month.
They qualify their article with this gem:
`Applying to be a Police Recruit does not guarantee that your application will be successful’.
Bloody hell when anyone applies for any job there is no guarantee they are going to get the job. It has been that way since – well – forever.
Notwithstanding in the old days an applicant for the New Zealand Police had to be 5’9″, have a clean criminal record – this included immediate family such a parents brothers and sisters and maybe even went wider to Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Plus probably a few other requirements I have overlooked.
Most of these requirements have gone by the board now but, still there is no guarantee you will be accepted.
Surely that is just plain commonsense that every Police applicant would know and understand.
If not then may God Defend New Zealand.
GOod example of a recen phenomenon, treating adults like children, this is also visible in the corporate communications.
