All indications are that Justin Trudeau and his monstrously shitty government will be toast at the next Canadian general election and for the sake of freedom it can’t come soon enough, as the Canadian Amish can attest:
A month ago, news broke that, up in Canada, Justin Trudeau’s government is fining the Amish community $300,000 ($222,660 American dollars). Their crime? They didn’t download the government’s COVID app. The twist, of course, is that the Amish don’t have smartphones. They eschew all modern technology.
It would be nice to think that this is merely dumb government bureaucracy at work, but as always with modern bureaucrats, particularly those empowered by Left-Wing governments, it’s nastiness combined with bovine stupidity:

The fines were not just a bureaucratic oversight — they were a targeted action. The government even went so far as to place liens on their properties, effectively freezing their ability to obtain loans and transfer land titles within families. These punitive measures have left the Amish community in a state of shock and despair.
This is the logical endpoint of having a government that cares for you; it’s your friend and will make your life better, so you should listen to your loving government and do what they tell you. Anyone who doesn’t listen to the government is bad, wicked even, and they must be destroyed.
The trajectory of Leftish government, even if it sounds kind and even if it doesn’t end in totalitarianism – assuming elections still hold and the people’s elected representatives actually the bureaucrats – is always the same; it has to be to fulfil its own desires and objectives.
Apparently the Canadians have something called the “Charter of Rights and Freedoms”, but it’s not much older than our Bill Of Rights and equally useless, mainly because like almost all such documents it grants rights to people, meaning the State does, which is always a dangerous thing in a land of Parliamentary Supremacy.
It’s probably time for the Canadian Amish (I’d no idea there were such people) to head south across the border to a land that has also seen rights violated, but where they might have better protection and a shot at restitution, given that the US Constitution sees rights from the opposite point-of-view, that they are not granted by the State but endowed to and embedded within humans merely by us being alive. As President Obama once complained, it is:
… a charter of negative liberties, [that] says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.
Right now the Canadian Amish must be thinking that sounds like a pretty good deal and that it’s time to join their brothers and sisters in Pennsylvania.
The worthy Canadian opposition at work…
Is it the hair or does his turn of phrase inspire hope?
eg Polliver asking the muppet, “What does that mean”, “Which people would say that”, “so who”, “What are you talking about”.
The Interviewer is just attempting to divert the opposition leader with his script from NWO.
