Sure, you laugh at the woo, the endlessly vacuous word salads of this woman, but understand that her career has shown only upward movement to date and that behind it is some truely callous shit, which the following advertisement (3m20s) takes aim at as it pulls from the memory hole her times as California AG. This is her when she has power:

As a prosecutor and as law enforcement, I have a huge stick. So I decided I was going to start prosecuting parents for truancy.

The advertisement presents Alameda County Public Defender Brendon Woods, who is Black, quoted saying, “I thought that was crazy”, as well as several parents who were actually arrested under Kamala Harris’s policy, with Harris boasting about how she told her cops, “When you go over there, look really mean.”

Without question the worst example is the mother (who is Black) who had a handicapped daughter missing school because she was sick and in hospital. That mother was arrested and described losing her home over the legal entanglement, while Harris boasted:

I learned that with the swipe of my pen I could charge someone with the lowest level offense. That person could be arrested, they could lose time from work and their family, maybe lose their job. They’d have to come out of their own pocket to help hire a lawyer. They’d lose standing in their Community… weeks later I could dismiss the charges but their life would forever be changed.

President Obama once famously said, in the face of Congressional resistance, “I’ve got a pen and a phone”. Imagine what this creature could do with that as US President.
