That’s Pete Hegseth, the new US Secretary of Defense appointed by Donald Trump. Who is he you may ask? You’re not alone in asking that.

Such people were naturally joined to MSM idiots like MSNBC’s loathsome Joy Reid (“The former and future president is moving quickly to fill out the clown car and round out his Cabinet,”) and Jim Acosta (“In a sign he has been making his cabinet selections while watching TV, Trump picks Fox anchor Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense”).

Well this is who he is and what he thinks of the US military vs China, which is an extract from a longer (2h 30m) interview with Shawn Ryan, himself a former Navy SEAL.

With this revealed the MSM and critics rapidly transitioned from “what does he know about the military?” to “Well he has no management experience to run a huge outfit like the Pentagon”. Over on CNN, the sole Rightie commentator (a real one) Scott Jennings, had no time for such criticisms as he reflected on the string of recent Pentagon debacles:

I’d say I’ve had just about enough of the so-called insiders running the Defense Department. I think we should give Pete Hegseth a chance

The meltdowns continue as they discover fresh horrors about his attitudes towards the military for which he served in combat:

And as usual, in-case the account or post gets deleted, here’s the last comment transcribed:

You’ve got to fire the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and obviously, to bring in a new Secretary of Defense, but any General that was involved, General, Admiral, whatever that was involved in any of the DEI woke shit has got to go. Either you’re in for war fighting and that’s it, that’s the only litmus test we care about. You got to get DEI and CRT out of military academies. You’re not training young officers to be baptized in this type of thinking.

And then, you know, whatever the standards, whatever the combat standards were, say,… I don’t know, 1995, let’s just make those the standards. And as far as recruiting, to hire the guy that, you know, did Top Gun Maverick and create some real ads that motivate people to want to serve. And there’s lots of other ways in which you could identify who gets promoted and what.

But there’s an ethos change, I mean, there’s a reason we’re not,…. people don’t want to serve because they don’t trust that their senior leaders are going to have their best interest in mind in combat. I know there were mistakes made on our tours all over the place. But I, at least for the most part, had a sense that my senior leaders were committed to the completion of the mission for the right reasons. And maybe there were strategic differences and all that other stuff, and it wasn’t always perfect, but now that trust is broken. And you have to reestablish that trust by by putting in no nonsense warfighters in those positions who aren’t going to cater to the socially correct garbage.

Hoo boy, you can understand why this didn’t just cause meltdowns in the MSM and political circles but in the Pentagon itself, Pentagon Generals Freak Out, Scramble to Hide Evidence of DEI Advocacy:

The Pentagon is in “absolute disarray” with “generals scrambling” due to the incoming Trump administration’s plans to fire woke senior military leaders who prioritized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) over combat readiness, according to sources. One source compared it to a hornet’s nest being kicked over and that “DEI pages are starting to disappear off the main websites.”

Apparently an Executive Order (EO) has already been drafted for firing a stack of such people, starting on Jan 20, 2025.
