And shows:
`Roy Morgan’s New Zealand Poll for January 2025 shows the National-led Government (National, ACT & NZ First) on 50% (down 1.5% points) and clearly ahead of the Labour-Greens-Maori Party Parliamentary Opposition on 46.5% (up 1.5% points).‘
Lets look at the individual parties:
National 32.5%
ACT 9.0%
NZFirst 8.5%
Total 50.0%
Labour 28.5%
Greens 11.5%
Maori Party 6.5%
Total 46.5%
Still a lead for the current coalition but, given the ineptness of the opposition it should be double what is showing. Even given that the Maori Party on 6.5% is not credible notwithstanding the 6 electorate seats they currently hold.
It is pertinent that Labour leaked (or if not Labour someone did) a Talbot Mills Poll earlier today which has the Coalition From Hell – Labour, Green Maori – able to Govern. You can see it at Stuff and The Herald both of whom are salivating at that prospect.
Why are we in this position?
I put it down to one thing. The Coalition and mainly Christopher Luxon and National are not doing what voters elected them to do in October 2023.
Do you agree?

In my humble opinion the problem with all of the political parties is that their most influential members and funders do not listen to their ordinary members or the rest of the people.
The do a lot of talking at us about what they think they should do in our government but they do not listen very well.
These “authorities need reminding that they are the employees of the productive working citizens of New Zealand whose daily efforts create the wealth and prosperity of the nation that they take and spend.
Spending what we have earned is dangerous enough but borrowing and selling off our communally owned lands, resources and other assets to impoverish future generations is extremely irresponsible and more dangerous.
The “common people” have to stop accepting these political deciders as THEIR PARENTS and understand that they are our EMPLOYEES and not very able ones.
There is far to much outside influence by global political and economic elites in New Zealand politics. We need to manage our own affairs for the benefit of our own people and stop depending on outside help.
The National party solution for growing the economy is to help their rich mates, here and in other countries, to become even richer at the expense of productive working Kiwis.
The Labour party solution to “social issues” is to increase the number of people that do not work and their dependence on government assistance paid for by the productive working people.
We have all heard of the “silent majority”. The reason they are called that is because none of the influential “elites” in the game of politics listen to or care what concerns these ordinary working citizens have or how difficult their lives have become.
Joining, supporting, donating to or helping with the election campaigns of the political parties is easy but gaining respect and influence with the party “authorities” is intentionally discouraged.
That is probably why none of the political parties have very many members but lobby groups like the Taxpayer’s Union and Free Speech Union, Hobsons Pledge and others have so many more supporters and members.
The authorities in the National and Labour parties do not have to respect and listen to their ordinary members and the other “common people” because they rely on the loyalty to their “brands” for success, regardless of how poorly they govern.
They know that the “peasants” will criticize and complain but do nothing effective and still vote for them next time as they always have.
Government by either National or Labour usually works out the same.
The rich minority of “upper class” people keep getting richer.
More “victims of social and economic injustice” get what they need for free.
The productive working people pay for it all and get poorer.
Just keep voting Red or Blue and expecting it to be different next time because that is what fools tend to do.
voidetcetcetc. – good to have you along as a commenter.
Succinct is better though.
pdm1946.
How about this?
The common people are being conned by deluded Omnipotent Moral Busybodies that desire absolute, totalitarian political power and authority to rule them!
The victims of this deception need to smarten up and stop denying that they are being robbed of their money and ownership of their own lives before it is too late to fight back by becoming more informed, involved and influential in the political GAME OF THRONES.
Very good voidetcetcetc.
Have you thought about blogging?
Email me at cruliviig@gmail.com if you are interested.
We are always looking for new talent at No Minister.
Strangely voidbabyedcbadd298, that is just what I reminded Todd McLay and Simon Watts last night (via email).
Of course I was slightly more succinct and not as erudite.
Todd McLay MTT – I thought he was doing very well as Trade and also Agriculture Minister. I suspect Watts and Luxon pushed him aside on the Zero Climate changes
McClay and Watts co-signed the reply to me re my pro-forma email on the climate bullshit thieving.
Well done. James Meager is the only National MP I have managed a reply from.
The rest ate either out of office or we will get back to you which never happens.
