Not the New Zealand ones of course. They’re merely facing another plateau as they did with Key’s government as they patiently await the return of Labour (plus the Greens and Te Paiti Maori Supremacists) after 2029 or 2032 (or perhaps earlier).

No, it’s the ones on Washington D.C. who are apparently running scared.

Very scared:

Searches for “criminal defense attorney” have skyrocketed in Washington, D.C. over the past couple of weeks. As in a 500% increase since Donald Trump was inaugurated.

This is not just being reported by one news source:

  • The New York Sun.
  • The Bronx Daily
    “The nation’s capital has always been a focal point for political and legal activities. However, the recent increase in searches for criminal defense lawyers is unparalleled. According to data, search results for defense attorneys are approximately five times higher in Washington, DC than anywhere else in the country.”

You don’t call out for a criminal defense lawyer if all you’re worried about is your job; that requires a different legal specialisation.

Just how corrupt is Washington D.C.? It’s starting to look like at least an order of magnitude more than I figured.
