This is great work by Judith Collins, a rare genuine conservative in National’s cabinet. No more research money to play whale music to Kauri trees.
More please.

ROFLMAO
Judith Collins is a trojan horse for the woke!
You obviouly missed her feminist rant when a lesbian ship master ran a $100 million vessel full steam ahead into a reef.
And she voted for “same sex marriage” ensuring I will never vote National again.
Another National Party wimp
“Last week I had an animated discussion with a staff member about work. I took the discussion too far, and I placed a hand on their upper arm, which was inappropriate,”
It should be “his shoulder” or perhaps and more likely “her shoulder”
“their” is the possesive plural but maybe used if you are unsure of the gender of the person to whom you are referring – I strongly doubt that this is the case here
Andrei, It’s National Party. Not so sure I doubt it so much as I would were we talking humans.
Meanwhile, no report on how fast the hand was travelling when making contact with the “upper arm” but, personally, I hope that speed was “high”.
A very disappointing performance from National who wilt at the first whiff of controversy and are pathalogically incapable of standing their ground or anything substantial for that matter
Judith Collins is a fraud. She’s spent her entire career throwing this sort of red meat around, but it means nothing once she’s safely ensconced in her Beehive orifice. I’d almost rather have a handwringing wokie like Luxon than that.
We need to be more aware of where the money that people in “the government” spend comes from.
The nation’s wealth is created by the daily efforts of productive working people.
“The government” takes part if the proceeds from workers as they earn their salaries and wages and also as they spend what remains.
“The government” also takes part of what people will earn in the future by borrowing money. Productive working people then have to service the debt and try to repay the loans in the future.
Every penny spent by the people we call “the government” belongs to the productive working people that provide others with goods and services they value and pay for.
When these people called “the government” spend OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY, the spending should be cost-effective and beneficial for the people that are forced to provide that money.
Unfortunately, the politicians and bureaucrats are more interested in how they would like to spend our money than how the productive working people would like it spent.
The productive working people are seldom asked for their agreement to spend their money and are usually not even informed of how it is being spent. The people of the Taxpayer’s Union do try to find out how our money is being spent but that is difficult because the “spenders” don’t want to say.
Spending other people’s money without their knowledge or consent is legalized fraud and theft that productive working people should stop accepting but none of the influential people in the major political parties seem to care about the extortion and waste of the wealth created by productive workers.
The only sensible and effective way to stop people called ‘the government” from wasting so much is to stop allowing them to take it from the people that earned it and allow them to decide how to spend what they earned themselves.
The influential “deciders” in the National and Labour parties will never do this because they use the authority to take and redistribute what productive workers create and earn as a means of bribing citizens to vote for then in elections.
The National party elites promise the people that consider themselves “upper class” a greater share of the wealth and the Labour party ones promise more for the “victims of social and economic injustice”
There is no political party that cares about the productive working people who have more difficulty affording the costs of living because these “common people” are not politically involved, active or influential in any of the parties.
There is a simple and effective way to reduce wasteful government spending and improve the lives of productive working people and that would be by allowing them to earn and keep the 1st $25,000.00 or more of what they earn before having to pay tax.
