My long wished-for dream is coming true.
The MSM really are dying off.
- ABC
- Disney Pulls Plug On FiveThirtyEight Amid Broader ABC News Cuts
538 was the independent political polling company founded by Nate Silver, but eventually it got bought by Disney (who own ABC news), who promptly sidelined him and turned it into a partisan Democrat unit, with the resulting collapse in trust (here’s its last poll before the 2024 election). Disney’s also wiping out about 200 positions, merging the long-running current affairs shows “20/20” and “Nightline”. - As journalist Megyn Kelly said, “If only George Stephanopoulos hadn’t felt the need to defame the president, some of these jobs might have been saved.”. ABC settled for $15 million after Trump sued them but it’s everywhere in the network: The View Hosts Issue Four Legal Notes in One Broadcast; Martha Radditz’s now infamous “Do you hear yourself” interview with Vance (She’s on call for a live-action remake of Tales From the Crypt)

- CBS
- Norah O’Donnell Out As ‘CBS Evening News’ Anchor in January. This one is especially delicious because she took over from Dan Rather two decades ago when he got caught lying about GW Bush’s military records.
- Paramount fires CBS journalists fired as hundreds get pink slips
Award-winning senior correspondent Catherine Herridge was the most well-known of them.
- NBC
- Former “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd left NBC in January.
- Veteran NBC News Anchor, Lester Holt, headed out in February – or more precisely to a vastly downgraded position that will likely see him leave quietly soonish.
There are even bigger bloodbaths in the cable news arena.
- MSNBC
- (Joy) Reid is out at MSNBC. It won’t stop the Jew-hate at the network but might calm it down.
- Most of Rachel Maddow’s Staff Canned at MSNBC. Just after she’d basically trashed her own network as racists (implied of course) for firing Reid
- Then three more MSNBC anchors had their shows axed: Ayman Mohyeldin, Katie Phang, and Jonathan Capehart (I’ve heard of the last one).
- But they’ve learned nothing, as the survivors turn into ghouls, with “self-loathing former Republican” comms advisor to Sarah Palin in 2008 (another great pick by McCain), Nicolle Wallace snarking about the little kid with cancer who wants to be a cop and got celebrated by Trump.
- CNN
- Famed journalist Chris Wallace, who left Fox News for greener pastures at CNN, announced his departure just after Trump’s win.
- Jim Acosta got booted to a midnight death slot, got the message, and quit.
- How long can Jake Tapper last, even as he tries to cover for himself and the rest of the US MSM by publishing a book about the cover up of Biden’s senility? He really does think he can fool people into thinking that he and the rest of the MSM shit-birds were not part of it?
The ratings for all these channels have tanked since late 2024, especially CNN and MSNBC and it now appears that the firings and re-structurings at those two are in preparation for them being sold off. For what? One dollar?
The coup de grâce seems to have been delivered by Trump’s win, which is extra funny because it was his departure from the presidency in 2021 that first sent their ratings tumbling. The reason that 2025 has not been a repeat of 2017 is the general exhaustion of #TheResistance in general but also because it seems even Lefties and TDS sufferers have had enough of being lied to about Trump; “But,… but,….They Said He’d Lose”.

There are still some holdouts. During Trump’s first term, the editor-in-chief of famous fashion magazine Vogue, Anna Wintour, a big Democrat supporter, revealed her TDS by refusing to put Melania Trump on the cover, despite Melania being perhaps the most beautiful First Lady ever and a former fashion model. This was the same magazine that put Jill “1950s curtains” Biden , Kamala “pantsuit” Harris and Michelle “Big Shoulders” Obama on the cover multiple times, relentlessly chiding us to profess that they were all stupendously beautiful. Melania has been on the cover once – when she was getting married to the then-still-Democrat, Donald.
I doubt things will change this term; Wintour’s nastiness is well known (captured perfectly in the movie, The Devil Wears Prada). The coverage of these early days has thus not surprises me, starting with a very catty article about Melania’s official White House portrait:
Trump looked more like she was guest starring on an episode of The Apprentice than assuming the role of first lady of the United States….The choice to wear a tuxedo—as opposed to a blazer or blouse—made Trump look more like a freelance magician than a public servant.
Meooowww, darlings – and, oh really? She looks pretty damned hot to me!

However, unlike the others Vogue will survive.
As will others funded by the state, like the BBC, who also revealed that they cannot adapt to a changing world with the recent blowup over a Gaza documentary that paid Hamas people to participate and focused on the sad plight of one poor child without revealing that he was the son of a Hamas official.
As Powerline quoted in their article, Fact-Checkers Extraordinaire:
The BBC suggests on the one hand that there is a problem with fact-checking the news from Gaza because it does not have anyone physically there to verify what is being reported. If this is true, then why on earth did it commission a documentary and then spend £400,000 of the licence-fee money on making one?
***
And let’s face it, if I can find out that Abdullah’s father is a Hamas official while sitting in a room in London – then so can the BBC fact-checkers. They did not find it – because they never bothered to look.
Because their newsroom is packed with activists dressed as journalists, who are also “giving voice to unheard voices” – even when each of the voices of the key subjects of their documentary had already appeared on major networks before. Just more Lefty bullshit draping a theoretical cover over old-fashioned propaganda.
This isn’t just about ideology though; in an age when people who are actually expert in something are writing about it – and we’ve just had examples of that with MacCulloch and Reddell on Adrian Orr and the RBNZ – why the fuck would I pay for some non-expert reporter/journalist to give me their “analysis” and opinion on the matter?
The NZ wing of the MSM is getting it in the neck as well:
- A new NZME shareholder
- Auckland-based Canadian billionaire James Grenon has taken a 10% stake in NZME and is already demanding the Board be sacked.
- This is already causing hysteria to break out at The Psychic Scream and The Standard. One of the arguments I love is how Right Wing the Herald already is, which begs the questions of why these Lefties are so upset about this and why RWNJ’s like me abandoned it two decades ago.
- The Herald had already been shedding more staff.
- Katie “No matter what we say, no matter what we do” Bradford is gone from TVNZ
- Stuff of course was sold some years ago for $NZ 1.00, like Newsweek in 2010. In tune with the Leftist theory of de-colonisation it renamed the physical paper from The Dominion Post to just “The Post”, but continues to shed subscribers, readers and staff.
- TV3 died a little while ago.

Delicious!
Still wondering whose money is propping up Stuffed. God knows it couldn’t ever support itself.
Just and excellent summary/article. Thank you.
speaking of firings: unbelievable
England is gone.
Mind you they may have company…
