Stuff are running a `straw poll’ initiated presumably after the latest Taxpayers Union Curia Poll.
As at about 410pm today there have been 4173 responses and here are the results to date:
Christopher Hipkins 52%
Christopher Luxon 21%
Chloe Swarbrick 10%
David Seymour 5%
Winston Peters 5%
Someone Else 8%
No names in the someone else category so I guess there could be four or five contenders.
Who do you prefer – I say Chris Penk.
Updates from Comments:
Penk 2 votes – includes mine.
I like Chris Penk as well. He seems competent which will immediately rule him out.
Competent, articulate and answers questions without any waffle or bullshit.
I didn’t know Stuff had 4173 staff.
Labour Mp’s and their staff plus all Union Members in the country.
Indeed, any stuff stuff is dubious.
A Stuff poll?
FFS, it’s about as organic and spontaneous as a North Korean Military Parade.
So how many “No minster” authors and/or commenters filled out this poll?
All opinion polls are biased and should be taken as indicative at best or with derision.
What shouldn’t be done is to take them with anything other than a grain of salt.
Give us a name then Andrei.
MMP is designed to ensure mediocroty in Parliament – there isnt a name to give, the party commitees make sure of that in smokefree backrooms
Got your attention though Tom.
Give us a name.
No Minister Polls are more accurate.
Sorry PDM but I just don’t know any of them well enough to suggest a name.
Uh oh…
Scroll down for the preferred Prime Minister Tom.
Conventional wisdom says that mid-election cycle polls are meaningless but I can see why Nats are getting nervous and don’t want to pin their hopes on chance events nearer to election date restoring their popularity.
The best thing that Luxon could do right now is to support David Seymour’s Treaty Principles Bill that he was voted in to support and help implement.
Wrong Fredonas, the best thing he can do is resign immediately.
He’s much to much of a lefty and has less spine than a jellyfish.
This is looking very much like a one term government.
At Least Old Curm that will be one marker for history for the Great Man //
