NZ needs another Grocer when having four major Fuel retailers delivers Nought.

The only real handbrake for fuel is smaller entrepreneurial marketers who by and large purchase their fuel from a Major. I am unaware who supplies Waitomo but Caltex supply my preferred supplier McKeowns based in Oamaru, and the other South Island challenge to Z, BP, Caltex and Mobil, is Nelson Petroleum Products who I understand get Mobil fuel.

There are existing outlets who challenge the Duopoly in specific product lines but many shoppers who through laziness and convenience choose to one stop shop, even the many who head to countdown where Pak n Save are clearly better options, why else do those stickman ads claiming dollars saved not attract any response from Woolworths?

Binn Inn, Butchers, Green grocers, Budget chemists, Bakeries and liquor outlets offer savings to be attained but involve a bit of time and planning for those in main centers but of course more rural communities will be lucky to have any choice locally.
