The US Democrat Party operatives have spent years trying to judicially prevent Donald John Trump from becoming President again and last year again failed even more spectacularly than eight years ago. Back in 2016 they did not consider him a viable candidate only to watch in disarray as he ended a Clinton family Dynasty (nb ‘nasty’) following Bill with Hillary and then Chelsea perhaps to continue.
Bush 41 was a good Potus his son at 43 not so much he almost fitted the Rino (Republican in name only) tag, his veep Dick Cheney only managing to provide an ultimate in Rino in daughter Lizz who ended any future in politics with a puerile display of support for Pelosi, Schiff, Adler and company in the extremely murkey attempts to elevate the validity of the 2020 election, into the January 6th protests with a tainted committee of the House of reps.
Something about the US attempting to create dynasties, one of the true strengths of the Constitution seems to bely such utter nonsense although I often wonder what Bobby Kennedy might have achieved if Sirhan had not intervened.
As more and more voters become aware that socialism is no answer and will only survive so long as OPMs remain available to be diverted to electoral success it is apparent that the Marxists and left of center continue to coalesce to combat what is only a realisation that conservatism has merits worthy of pursuit.
Germany recent federal elections saw the Alternative for Germany (Alternative für Deutschland,) come second with 20% behind Christian Democratic Union, CDU and their cronies Christian Social Union, CSU on 28% together. Such is the portrayed image of AfD that leaves a logical voter support of 360 seats with 316 needed for a CDU, CSU Afd gathering impossible and CDU leader trying to cobble a government leaving AfD on 20% in opposition. Meanwhile Out going chancellor Olaf Schultz Christian Social Union and pro europe is out. One of AfD planks is euro skeptic.
Tom’s excellent post above is further evidence of the lengths socialists will employ to maintain relevancy while Baroness Thatcher’s increasingly prescient belief being revealed as truth remains a thorn to be exorcised not debated; As in ” The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”
Capitalism is not dead, it is increasingly being viewed as an only possible solution. In particular by many Younger voters fearful of the alarming growth in nations debt levels.
Good things take time as they claim in the Mainland Cheese commercials.
The Defence of Democracy is looking more like a Nineteen Eighty Four perversion of what plain words mean:
Romania: the presidential election canceled just as final voting was about to begin, because Georgescu (a populist) appeared likely to win, and of course he’s now barred by their Supreme Court from running in the next one.
Germany: the entire political system screwed so AfD can’t be in government, despite being No. 2 in votes.
Brazil: former President Jair Bolsonaro is charged with attempting a coup, after some of his supporters “stormed” government buildings following his 2022 re-election defeat, even though he was out of the country when the alleged “storming” occurred.
USA: That last sounds awfully to what was pulled against Trump and his advisors, except the good guys won in the end.
To quote the former Far Lefter, David Horowitz:
Inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out.
It’s because the far right are all grifting crooks and Russian tools. They’re your people.
