If the so called `Powerful’ Parliamentary Privileges Committee has any guts and teeth.
The 3 Maori Party Haka thugs have in a word told the Privileges Committee to get STUFFED by refusing to appear before them when requested. They are citing lack of recognition of tikanga and potential Double Jeopardy as their main reasons plus that some (so called) tikanga expert is not allowed to appear with them and their preferred Defence Lawyer Chris `Tinkerbell’ Finlayson is not available to represent them on the specified day.
I wonder in the days prior to 1940 when Maori Tribes were at war with each other how much tikanga and Double Jeopardy played in their decisions. Once you were headed for the pot you were a gonner I would think.
It will be interesting to see how the Judith Collins Chaired Privileges Committee will react – we will presumably know in the next couple of days.

Isnt it strange how the Maori activists insist that we comply with their tikanga, especially on a marae, but they thumb their noses at our ‘tikanga’ in our ‘marae’.
