Socialists and communists make great plays for equity, fairness and equality, in reality they do not actually hold such fundamentals dear, just read Orwell’s “Animal Farm”?

Yet those who would in a flash hand absolute power and dominion back to a monarchial structure without understanding one single facet of the struggle over centuries to wrest power from Monarchs, Princes and Princesses, Dukes, Earls, Barons and Sheriffs (including chiefs of stone age tribes) to lay it all in the hands of the people that really only began when King John was forced to sign the Magna Carta one thousand and ten years ago on June 15th in two months time.

A sea change, the rather awesome taking of power with temporary loss of freedoms and loss of many lives of brave souls along the way, seeking redress in governance since the absolute Monarch King John was forced to surrender very basic freedoms by rebellious Barons in 1215. Of course even a millennium ago those people had amongst them a system of written language that could be employed in what was in effect a “Treaty”.

We are regaled daily on matters of wonderfulness from a bunch of itinerant settlers who perhaps, in paddling canoes from a place they cannot identify, probably very fortunate, in landing on the shores of New Zealand a few decades before Tasman encountered these Islands deep in the South Pacific in 1642 having sailed from his native Holland 12 000 miles away, all recorded for history and successfully returned to Holland.

I have not watched the abominable scenes that accompanied the latest steps in creating further destruction of any ideas in support of a multicultural advances which, following WW2, were making real progress – the defeat of the Bill seeking legislative adoption of exactly what was an attempt to define various legal manipulations so far delivered in law as “Principles of The Treaty of Waitangi by an unelected judiciary. The fact that two of the triumvirate saw fit to not attend the destruction of David Seymour’s move was in itself a significant sign of the cowardice and contempt for parliaments’, and thereby a significant segment of ordinary peoples sovereignty diminishing unchecked.

Will reason and true equality ever prevail? I for one still do fervently hope so, however that I may witness such real evolution becomes more unlikely as time passes, and mediocrity continues.

Now today many of those charged with shaping this nation have a predisposition to bring in people as Immigrants who will never in another millennium truly desire to merge into an established society perhaps with a minor influence on the shape of that society.

Many Maori back in 1840, having been decimated with the addition of muskets to the long standing intertribal dominion based entirely on “Might is Right”, sought a better option on offer by the political leadership of The United Kingdom of her majesty Queen Victoria, resplendent in the apex of world dominion by her Naval and industrial power.

Today, sadly, a disparate bunch of the power hungry – a combination of native unelected elites buttressed by unworldly academics who would also never reach a momentous developmental step such as a rolling wheel – insanely seek to reestablish the primitive societal structures of 1840, not to just rule over subjected peoples who may want such barbarity consigned to history, a people who now wish to employ the traditions of parliamentary rule as given initial green shoots by those rebellious barons all those years ago.

Now of course such actual “co governance” did not emanate from King John’s bowing down at Runnymede, it was not until around the Time Tasman intruded upon these isles that the contretemps around the Stuart reign when King Charles the First was decapitated and succession ended for Monarchy.

Enter one Oliver Cromwell, a puritan with delusions of grandeur to act as head of State for England Wales Scotland and Ireland that slowly the notion of a diluted monarchy might just be a better option. A mere twenty years later, following Cromwells death, replaced with his hereditary follower, son Richard as “Lord Protector”, the ruling elites went back to Charles the second as a much reduced in real power, Monarch in what is now referred to as “The Restoration”.

Of course today there are an army of elites who really do consider themselves as superior in ability and status. But they are cursed with being merely ordinary, and those who may have understanding, intellect and reasonableness, such as the collective who created the enduring US Constitution in the time frame of 1840 New Zealand. In fact it was after Cook the Yorkshireman began again European interests, of Sealing for Furs and Whaling for Oil brought civilisation to the Natives.

Such driven persons offering to sit in the peoples house of representatives cannot be bothered with the mundane existence involved in governance. Of course an ultimate irony involved in the still very relevant US Constitution, there has an estimated population of the US in the late 16th century, at around half of New Zealand today, challenging and defeating the UK in self determination. Such avoidance by real leadership endowed serves to elevate pompous twits such as Palmer, Clark, Key, and now Luxon, to oversee the descent into a rubble of incompetence.

To witness the parade of garbage that the Green party have watched carry their flag; Elizabeth Kerekere – bully, Darleen Tana – immigrant abuser, Golriz Ghahraman – shoplifter, and the latest despicable in Benjamin Doyle, alleged to have had a public profile a majority of voters would never elect ever.

To repair things we really must do better but Mediocrity rules, so that remains a faint hope.
