That is the playbook used after the October 7, 2023 Hamas pogrom. Now it’s being used following the April 22, 2025 attack on Indians in Kashmir, in this case by some student group at the famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology, called MIT Coalition Against Apartheid.

Let’s check off the similarities.

  1. Strongly imply that there are ‘details’ yet to emerge – the implication being that initial news reports based on eye witnesses are not the whole story and details might later emerge painting the Muslim attackers in a better light.
  2. Claim that Muslims who are occupying and taking the name of the region, Kashmir, are only killing non-Muslims in order to ‘resist’ this oppression.
  3. History did not start on the date of the Muslim terror attack but is rooted in decades of Indian oppression (it’s a historic fluke that the oppression begins on the same date, although I’m sure the Jihadists could see a plot).
  4. Describe India as occupiers and claim that such ‘occupying’ forces are the real reason for the crimes of Muslim terrorists. The “occupiers” are also not allowed to take any action against the “occupied” – who by contrast can commit any war crime they want.
  5. Describe the outraged rhetoric and military responses of the non-Muslim victims in the most horrifying terms. Claim that arrests of Muslim terrorists is a campaign of general repression. Shift the outrage to the targeted government.
  6. Make sure you hijack the terms “fascist” and “genocide”, “Apartheid” is already in the mix given the group’s name.

It worked for them after the 9/11 and 10/7 attacks so why not try it on this time as well?
