As I wrote at the time, this photo echoed American history so perfectly that it was instantly iconic. Photo of the decade so far, perhaps? Certainly up there with 21st century photos of things like 9/11. And obviously photo of the year, you would think?

You would think wrong, as is often the case when ordinary normies run into the opinions of the MSM.
The WHCA award for presidential news coverage by visual journalists, which recognizes a video or photo journalist for uniquely covering the presidency at the White House or in the field went to Doug Mills of The New York Times for an image taken of former President Joe Biden as he wrestled with historic challenges, including international crises, amid calls for him to end his reelection campaign.
They didn’t even give the Trump photo honorable mention. That went to Agence France-Presse for a photo of Elon Musk jumping in the air at a Trump rally. Yes. Really.
They also gave a reporter, Alex Thompson, an award for “breaking news” that the rest of us had already known for years and that the majority of the “journalists” in that room ignored or outright attacked. To his credit Thompson actually pointed this out in his speech: to his discredit he continued the gaslighting about how the Biden team had misled him and other reporters.
The MSM themselves don’t get the link between decisions like that and the following…
It’s not just the Left-wing ideological and partisan nature of the MSM but the fact that they are increasingly terrible at simply writing up the stories, with the reporting of the Spanish blackouts just the other day as a typical example:
[A]nd governments in both countries, which share a population of around 60 million people…
online flight trackers reported that several airports saw their frequent departures suddenly halted…
Trains were also suspended in Spain…video posted on social media showed blackened train cars stuck
Joe Mannix at Ace of Spades pointed out the problems with these gaffes and then made the key point:
I am sure the citizens of Spain and Portugal will be surprised to learn that they’re a shared population…. It’s curious that several airports saw only “their frequent departures” halted…. I didn’t know that Spanish trains are suspended from above instead of being on the ground, nor that a power outage can cause trains to levitate. Surely the writers didn’t mean that service was suspended. If they meant that, they’d have written it…The cars “blackened.” Maybe they caught fire and it was char?
These people write for a living.
Or how about this reporting on the same event. The MSM is still going by the old rule that most people don’t read beyond the headline. Perhaps they don’t, but others who can now broadcast their analysis to millions of people.
At least one side is learning, and that’s the GOP, where neither President Donald Trump nor the White House Press Secretary wasted their time attending this progressive hate fest on Republicans (see “comedian” Steven Colbert’s vicious partisan attack on Bush twenty years ago). We’ll see if the lesson outlasts the Trump administration.
I don’t know. Getting a photo of Joe walking steadily and assuredly would be about as difficult as getting a photo of a Fiordland moose.
That’s true. I hadn’t considered that. After all, these photos are about the skill of the photographer and not just the picture they take. 😂😂😂
Walking is sooo symbolic. Especially from the low camera viewpoint, amazing skill. Apparently.
Where is the silly old bugger headed, the bloody fireplace?
Not even cognitively aware sufficient to realise it needs to be lit to deal with the mortal remains.
Back to the Delaware Beach stupid, Jill knows the way hopefully?
What I love about this is your willingness to humiliate yourself daily in the service of a rapey, senile clown who is fast destroying the global economy and American democracy.
