The shot, is a typical Boomer Democrat in wealthy Martha’s Vineyard repeating the latest scare claim out of America, which is that ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is going to be arresting American citizens next.
The Chaser is the video from three years ago of Martha’s Vineyard people cheering as illegal immigrants are led to a bus to a military facility – by the National Guard no less.

I was at dinner last night with some American ex pats where they stated that trans people are being “disappeared”. That citizens are being deported to El Salvador. Citizens.
I couldn’t really speak to the first, though I’d imagine if that were true there be all sorts of noise about it in the media.
For the second I said that I didn’t believe that. That green card holders weren’t citizens, and again we’d hear if citizens were being deported. The only case where that might be true would be a child born in the USA to non citizens, the parents are deported and the child goes with them.
This just reinforces for me we don’t want Americans choosing nz to flee to.
Most Americans living in New Zealand are nuts. Many of them left the Pacific Northwest because they found it too right wing and oppressive there. They are extremists.
